The answer is no, because the Wii U has been out for over three years. If you haven't purchased one yet the console is just not for you.
The price of the tech will need to come down before it goes mainstream. VR really needs a lot of support to be successful to go mainstream sooner. With that said, I expect VR to be mainstream next gen and Sony will have the avantage in the video department.
@Armrdchaos
Agree, VR needs to be utilized by training first on large scale. This will help bring the cost of the tech down. I like the way the NFL is using VR for QB to train for their next opponent.
Hopefully it was be half price for the first week it relases.
Was it fun to play?
Or you call Sony and complain. They just might give you a free month for the inconvenience.
If the NX is a true hybrid console. That would make me believe Smash Bros NX will be the Wii U & 3ds versions combined with some new content. Imo
Can't wait to see what it really is though.
Nintendo is like the craft beer of video games. They operate on their own schedule. Aslo they aren't concerned about mainstream trends, unless the market makes them. They know that Nintendo is not for everyone and because of that there is never enough stock produced, special edition consoles, games, & amiibos. Then their products are sold be scalpers at a higher rate. Just like craft beer annual release special beers. Cigar city Hunahpu Imperial stout
There is a rumor that the NX will work with smart devices and possible the PS4. As a Wii U owner, I'd love to see the portable NX work as an upgraded gamepad for the Wii U.
Wii U is at the top of my list. Not for the new games released, but the virtual console. Being able to play most Zelda games on the gamepad is just awesome. I know Nintendo has really not supported it nearly to my likings (Gamecube), but the list is still impressive. (Hopefully we get mother 3 soon) Then you throw in all the new Wii U & indie games. (indie games is huge advantage for Wii U)
The NES & SNES have the hack games as advantage, but they still take third &am...
It 's nice to add it to my digital collection though. Now, i've got all the Gears games digitally.
Just imagine a handheld that runs at 900p 60fps with the ability to play DS & 3DS games and will second as an upgraded gamepad for the Wii U. Then when the NX console releases, the NX handheld will work as the gamepad. This making the gamepad separate for the consumer to decide if they want it or not. That was one of the biggest complaints about the Wii U. This also gives them the ability to make a better gamepad and brings down the cost of the console.
Nintendo is just flat out fun.
I agree with fatneal. There is a smear compaign going on by 3rd party companies. When video games started become mainstream all the big companies saw an opportunity to make money, not video games. These companies are more concerned with releasing their games on schedule with their budget, instead of a compete almost bug free game. This is where Nintendo and 3rd party companies started the bad blood. Nintendo charged 3rd party companies for game...
There are more good indie games then there are AAA games this generate.
It's actually a great controller. The controller has no lag and controls two different screen at once. There is only one controller that can stream games with no lag and that's the Nintendo gamepad.
That rumor of 900p 60fps could be for a handheld unit that will second as the gamepad for NX. If this is true then you will need both handheld and console for NX to be BC with Wii U.
@OzzY-waZZy
There are some delusional Nintendo fans out there for sure. IMO it's a side effect of all the hate Nintendo receives. This ends in them becoming alienated, rendering them unable to think logically.
Hopefully this opens the door for a sequel to Super Mario RPG. Nintendo has renewed it's relationship with SE again. So why not?
They could at least release the original Mario RPG on the Wii U VC.
All these games are specifically made for the 3DS to take advantage of it's 3D ability. Sega has been putting a lot of time into 3D verisons of their classic games. The list is horrible though. Imo
Only played the first game in the series, which is a great RPG.
Nintendo & indie games are keeping the original essence of video games alive. Where fun is more important then the cool factor. Don't get me wrong I love these new third-party mature games but sometimes they just feel like more work than fun. That's why I love Nintendo & indie games.
