True but only to an extent . Take tekken tag HD ... from day one it had enough original high poly models to not only be downscaled for the ps2 and arcade release , but later on re-released with probably all of its details in HD .
But thing is you still need to constantly bump the quality of those high poly , and then factor in animation costs and the contantly evolving lighting and texturing techs . Today's high poly arent certainly of the same quality and level of tekk...

Nope , i'm of the opinion that as seen in the best and in everyone's interest , using each console's advantage for a multiplatform release is better . Be it the ps3 or 360 or pc , or wii getting on top for whatever reason , as long as each version is done right , they should use any advantage they can think of .
