Yes, unless you've earned a reward, see my comment above. If you've earned the headshot medal, you earn more points (1,5 or 2, I can't remember) for headshot kills and the same goes for the melee medal. I think that ordinary kills will always be just one point unless your target is the assassination target or you're defending the enemy's mission target (in which case you also receive mission points and a ribbon), though.

EDIT: Also, the players on the winning team get their poi...

Or by visiting and registering on Killzone.com. They tested the revamped site during the beta and it was incredibly accesible and tracked everything you did in the game. It also had great community features such as the ability to set up clan matches and tournaments from the website and weekly updated spotlights for both players and clans.

It was imo even better than Bungie's website which I think is amazing. The only thing I don't like are the forums with stupid HTML editing an...

Also important is that after you've earned the eight ribbons required you are rewarded with a medal that in turn unlocks the ability or the function to use it with other classes. You can track your progression on Killzone.com and see all your ribbons earned even after acquiring the eight needed to receive the medal and reward. Killzone.com is available to launch from the in-game menu, so I expect that you won't need to turn off the game in order to view it.

Even more important ...

Heh, I've heard of Darksiders but haven't checked it out. You go look into WarDevil and I'll do the same for Darksiders. ;)

I too am interested in WarDevil. We don't really have a futuristic hack-and-slash action title with gameplay similar to that of God of War. I don't believe the ridiculous claims that WarDevil is just a farce to generate hype.

One could argue that Sony were in need of exclusives before, but why would they and Digi-Guys reveal more information and go as far as to show a teaser of the animated series if it were fake now that they already have so many fantastic exclusives, both rel...

Why is the player the only one not wearing an oxygen mask? It looks like GeoW with Fallout 3 graphics, or any other Unreal Engine title that isn't Epic's own GeoW. I'm not expecting much. GeoW and Uncharted are my favorite TPS franchises.

BTW, is that Nico Bellic behind the crates in screenshot 6? http://www.uwar-game.com/uw...

How are they Sony trolls for stating what everyone who has seen GoW 3 (well, at least Jaffe) and Heavy Rain can confirm or at least not deny? I wouldn't say Metal Gear Solid 4 looks way better than RE5, but from what I've seen they look about similar.

You seem to despise that people are actually not too impressed with RE5, and to think that they are even discussing it?! *gasp* Like you just wrote: "if you don't like RE5 don't play it, stop insulting it, fanboys are always ...

I don't really care for it not being scary, but as for moving like a tank and having to stop all the time...no thanks. I think I would probably be more frustrated with it than I would be enjoying it, especially after getting used to the seamless and incredibly fluid TPS action of Uncharted.

Uncharted took the usual over-the-shoulder gunplay, cover and platforming elements and made them more seamless, fluid and easier on the player than that of any other. And then they finished ...

Because while it may not make us who spend a whole lot of time on the internet reading up on it change our mind, it sure as hell will make many others not buy it. You don't seem to realize how much impact gaming journalism has on the industry.

If a major magazine or site decides they want to make a false article to generate more sales or hits, then those who only read that may not buy the game. If many more to do this, then the game suddenly has a bad reputation, and those who ...

It's not about how well recognized the developer is. I know that White Knight Chronicles is good because I've seen a lot of it. Neither you or me can say how good Demon's Souls is, because nearly nothing has been shown about it. That will change once the game is out in Japan and people can give their own honest opinions and share some footage.

Gameyradar just wants hits like most sites these days. These guys aren't journalists, they know their grammar, but they sure as hell don't bother to write objective and fair articles. They write whatever generates the most views.

Why otherwise would they name the article "No Heavy Rain until 2010?". Writing negative things about the Playstation 3 or Sony in general seems to generate the most hits these days, and they state themselves that David Cage has said that Heav...

Full backwards compatability emulator via an optional install on your XMB + the ability to create and manage your own voice-chat party on the XMB while running in-game. The voice-chat party should have features such as having smaller groups in the party as well as voice-priority for groups and individuals. When an individual or a group of your choosing speaks, all other chat should get quiter or disappear.

All games supporting voice-chat should be patched with an option to disa...

No, it is not turn based. Think along the lines of Diablo + Oblivion combat.

If I were to make a comparison from games I have played (no King's field), I'd say it looks a bit like Diablo (inventory, environment and enemies) + Oblivion (scale, middle-age fantasy setting) + a little Shadow of the Colossus with those huge creatures ravaging the city. All combined and with original features of its own, it will probably be quite unique.

There's actually a screen with about 7 or more enemies on a bridge. I can't read Japanese, but I think most of this is an explanation of the game's features; combat, inventory, story, allies, heroes, bosses, death and respawn, co-op (?!) etc. Having a battalion of enemies on screen at once isn't exactly favorable when trying to show off your melee, magic, block and evasion, as well as the enemy's reactions.

I'm sure there will be scenarios with a lot of enemies to battle though...

They've apparently been making games like this for quite some time with their King's Field franchise, so I wouldn't call it a knock-off. But really, games have genres because they have similar traits to others, so all this "doesn't do anything new" fuss is ridiculous, imo. And while really original games like Flower are very appreciated in the gaming press, it doesn't necessarily appeal to the gamers as much.

I really doubt original and unusual games like Flower will ...

Must have games aren't based on how much they've sold. By that logic, WiiSports would be one of the best games ever. I'd say Metal Gear Solid 4 and Valkyria Chronicles are the top quality retail games on the Playstation 3. But neither of their genres appeal to as many gamers as shooters.

And the main factor in how well a product does in sales isn't how good the product is, it's marketing.

but I have to ask: will every FPS in the future get a negative if it doesn't include bots? It appears that co-op suddenly became mandatory (apparently COD4 didn't need any), so I expect bots to do the same now that Killzone 2 and UT3 has had them.

To conclude: games journalism...pfft.
