Psycho Mantis of MGS 1 indeed. They should've waited until Killzone 2 was released though, people say the end fight with Radec is one of the best they've played.

Alternate 2 with Zoom on toggle in campaign and Zoom on hold and Crouch on toggle in MP for me. I was in the beta, and I'm 100% sure this will be the best setup for anyone who prefers the Alternate 2 control scheme.

In the campaign you have to hold L2 to stick to cover, so not having Zoom on toggle means you have to hold in both L2 and L1 while shooting with R1, which as you can probably guess is a bit tedious. I'm sure having Zoom on toggle will work great, though.

Rex God told you? It's been a while since I saw him, would you tell him not to try to take a bite out of me the next time I see him, again?

I like today, not as much as Feb 25 or if I get it a little earlier. But I like it. :)

I'm sure Metacritic are busy right now.

Whoever made that title must've been very tired or fishing for hits. This is an Xbox 360 (and PC, of course) "exclusive", so of course it will show up on the Playstation 3 with more content later on. Look at Bioshock and Eternal Sonata.

I still don't really get why many reviewers don't consider the cover system, sharing of abilities among classes and the mission objectives changing randomly in multiplayer as original and innovative features. Gears of War's cover system was arguably its only innovative feature, and people treated it as if it was the first game to ever feature cover, even though it wasn't.

I agree with these reviews giving it a 9 or 9,5 (most probably what I would give it), but now I expect no game to henceforth get a 10/10. Because the only negative things present in Killzone 2 have been present in pretty much every other game that has scored 10/10 in this generation.

Yes, even though I expect Killzone 2 to sell more than any released PS3 title quite quickly simply with all this internet praise and word of mouth, some damn proper advertisement could make it soar high above the best selling titles of all time.

Did I hear a call for Raptor Jesus?

@Yamamoto114: The same could be said about Killzone 2, because it delivers just as good or imo even better gameplay than that of Halo 3's, both in campaign and multiplayer. And just because they differ in art style, it doesn't mean they can't have similar technical features.

Killzone 2 features dynamic shadowing, a whole lot of true light sources, great geometry, superb animation, particle effects, wind, fire smoke and it's all...

I find it ironic that the first official review to rate it lower than 9 (and wrongly so!) are also among the few to have new images of it that aren't two years old.

Look no further than Gamedaily, Gamesradar and maybe Eurogamer. Gamedaily and Gamesradar has been doing nothing but downplaying Killzone 2 with ridiculous double standards.

A member at NeoGAF posted all of Gamesradar's coverage of Killzone 2 and compared them to that of Gears of War 2's and Halo 3's which had titles like "Ten things about x that we love!" and "x, the best sequel ever?" while Killzone 2 received 'pre-review' scores of 5/10, 6/10 and 7 or 8/10...

No, there are more possible class combinations than that. I think they just confused six with sixteen. There's the basic Rifleman, Medic, Engineer, Tactician, Assault, Saboteur and Scout, unlocked in that order. All but the Rifleman has a primary badge and a secondary badge (the Assault primary badge is passive and thus not an ability) that can be unlocked by using the primary badge and later used with other classes after that option has been unlocked by using the secondary badge in question....

Keep em' coming Eurogamer! I think these are the best vids I've seen of Killzone 2 thus far. Not only is the quality great, but the player plays like a real gamer, and I think he's doing it at Veteran (hard) difficulty.

Yes. I expect the Xbox 360 price drop momentum to have dropped a little bit, and the Playstation 3 to have sold a little more due to the anticipation of Killzone 2 and its overall 2009 line-up.

I do however base this on internet anticipation, and the larger consumer market don't read up on everything that's written about videogames on the internet. So the roles could actually be reversed and Killzone 2 anticipation hasn't generated any sales at all while Halo Wars has kept the ...

I agree, both consoles have done well in this generation, no matter the outcome by the end of it. And neither brand will fail this generation. However, with casual and hardcore gamers being more and more divided, I think it's entirely possible that one of them will lose consumer interest in the next generation as hardcore gamers will eventually tire of having to buy two consoles to get the games they want and settle with the one offering the best value and games.

With the Sony ...

And there are considerably more consumers sitting on the fence waiting for the price to drop for the Playstation 3 than there are for the Xbox 360 in 2009. And if the economy picks itself up again, it will sell even better. The price drop momentum that the Xbox 360 gained in late 2008 may last a few months into 2009, but it will definitely die off sooner or later.

With that said, I wouldn't be too sure about Sony cutting the price of the PS3 any time too soon. They just recentl...

I think even Nintendo doesn't really know why their consumers buy their games that are so much worse in quality than those they released for their previous consoles. In reality we all know why: because they don't really care and just want something to play when they're drunk with their pals, plus it's great for kids.

We just don't know why - if they have accepted gaming as fun and not just child's play (I suspect the Wii won't help in that aspect) - they don't try out quality t...

Focusing "on the now" is a bit hard to do when speculating about the future. As is not using "if", as no one knows for certain what will happen in the future.

Here I thought this was the simplest of logic, silly me. :)

The article was all well and following numbers until this line: "Still without a PS3 price cut, Microsoft's console will surely pull away in 2009." What do they base this on? If the Playstation 3 has done fine with its high price, wouldn't it sell even better in 2009 when its most anticipated exclusives are releasing?

Also, the Xbox 360 had such a sudden boost in sales because of the price cut. Without a price cut and its current line-up, I sure don't see its sales be...
