What you're describing might be the case for seasoned, conservative gamers.
The new generation however is very open minded when it comes to gaming on the iPhone or iPad. They grew up with these things so they are used to it and don't mind the controls.
IOS / Android / Facebook gaming is the future.

Unfortunately yes, it died in the 90s.
Resident Evil should be renamed into Resident Action now, it might be a silly name, but it's more accurate to what these games are today.
