XIII went linear for the 360 because the system doesn't have the processing power to render towns. So gamers know what to expect by now. SE can't really expect the same sales they would get from a true next gen FF.
It's the same with Alan Wake, announced as a huge open world PC game, ended on the 360 as an on-rails shooter.

Exclusives aren't really the point, there are games like Infinity Blade II, Modern Combat 3: Fallen, Dungeon Hunter, Chaos Rings (Square Enix) and many more.
The thing is iPhone has proven itself as a system capable of offering core titles. There can always be more of them which is up to the developers, the technology is definitely there.
Well iPhone have been running hardcore games for a long time now, the 4S is more powerful than any handheld currently available here.
The only problem is the controls, if they figure that out, then bye bye portable consoles.
It can certainly hold up to the PS3 version, a shame Vita can't be hooked up to a TV though as far as I know.

I never have gotten into any other mmos after playing WoW for many months in 2005. The magic of mmos just went away after that. I'm hoping it will come back with Blizzard's Titan.
Maybe I'll give this one a try though, IF there is a trial version available. If not, Bioware's out of luck I guess.

Resonance of Fate is, along with Valkyria Chronicles, one of the best SRPGs this gen btw. So tri-Ace's contribution can only make XIII-2 much better than XIII.
