Most PC gamers know you want a 1080 or better for consistent 4K... and if you have a 1080 why would you cripple it with an I5... So I dont know what PC builders/gamers you think you are talking to but most people trying to push 4k/60 arent buying less than that for their rig.

Expecting X1X to sell more than the PS4 (Which Xbox already doesnt sell as well as) and Switch (A whole new console still trying to meet demand) is nowhere near expectations. Why would it sell more than those two? Who said it would. Neither have anything to do with whether the system is DOA.

It won't but then again who is expecting the Xbox to sell as much as a PS right now? And just because it doesn't sell as much as PS does not mean it's DOA. DOA means no one wants it, selling 500,000 preorder before launch means there is a premium market for it.
If it was DOA "limited" would still not be bought. There is a market for the console it isn't DOA and people can move the goal post all they want but just like this author they asked a question but didn't explain what DOA was to them. By what parameters is a premium console considered DOA?
I like how the author is going to pretend that MS has not said repeatedly that it is a premium console and for those that don't need the premium that is what the Xbox One S is for. The author makes it sound like this is the only Xbox One option now. Talking about budget consious users and mass market when it is made for neither of those two, that is what the S is for.

Exactly, The people that have made the games we love, the games we love, arent working there anymore. I couldnt make a better Portal than Portal 2 if I had an eternity. And what is the upside, Its a hit and Valve makes another mountain of money (that it arguably doesnt need)... while the downside is destroying the image of having some of the best games ever.

This makes sense, but I also have a fundamental problem of making a ton of money and then saying we arent slowing down (trust us) but you will see less updates as often... Part of the draw of this early access is the constant updates and improvement.
That is amazing, I just hope that they follow through with the game and improving it more and more as time goes on. I cant wait for the vaulting to be introduced but the net code still needs crazy work. It is a blast and I am enjoying it for what it is now and just hope it continues to get better.
It is worth playing now more than ever. Loving the changes in general. I am always a person that hates item balance changes in games like this since you could work very hard to grind and grind to find that one perfect piece of gear that everybody wants and then a week later they patch the game making it less effective. That is a gripe I have with all games like this but it is still relevant.
