I think the premise of this is absolutely wrong. MS has said that they are not showing games so much in advance anymore.
What makes people think that MS wont show the game at E3 2018 and release in October/November 2018? which would be a 3 year window from release.

If you had read the article you would know this wasn't a dig at anyone and he clearly says that developers borrow ideas from each other when they see good ideas and try to make them better.
Did you read the article? I know the headline is gripping but the quotes from him are both humble and honest. He literally said that BotW borrowed a concept and executed it perfectly. He also said that all developers borrow and try to refine and make better aspects of games and improve on them.

Its almost as if I walk into a store to buy a TV and there aren't multiple TV's side by side playing the same video... Will I be able to tell the difference once I take the tv home? Nope, but that doesn't mean I don't know deep down there is someone else out there playing a video in more detail than what I have. It's up for people to decide whether they want that or not.

Any company has no financial reason to start blocking large swaths of users. If you really want that to happen the people who dont want to be around these types of people would have to stop using the platforms (in hopes to persuade them that they are losing more by not blocking these people)... and we all know that people wont do that. So why would the company actually do anything?

They act this way because enforcement is lax at best. If they enforced rules for toxicity more than the games "toxicity" would get better... although then there would be significantly less playing either.

Umm no! Though I agree if a game came out and was focused specifically for the opposite demographic it would be criticized for it, that does not mean that it should be... It is well worth it. I have replayed this game many times and started another run of it a few months ago until I got side tracked with PUBG.
To me it still holds up nicely, The only complaint I have is the battles intro, exit and spell casting are slow so after a while it can start to feel a little sluggish.But this is a problem with all the PS1 era FF games for me.
