Well then tell your employees that because when I talk to EA employees (I happen to live in a city where there is an EA presence) they still seem to think gamers are a bunch of whiney, entitled, jackholes... which I am not denying (in general) but that is a far different statement than "We made some mistakes, we will learn from them."

They dont feel they made mistakes for what they did they feel the mistake was made for what they thought they could get away with....

I dont really understand the question, who is walking into E3 going "Sonys not going to announce anything big."?

Wouldn't the question really be, "Can Microsoft make an announcement big enough to not lose any momentum gained?" And the answer is probably not but they better damn well try. Because I want a reason to use my XboX more.

Yeah, that is the complete concept... Holy crap do people not get that? You are literally "renting" all the available games for $10/month. If you stop paying you don't get the games anymore.

It is exactly like a rental service.

I feel sorry for anyone who thinks we "Xbots" can afford a $500 Xbox One X but thinks we cant afford a PS4 or thinks we cant/dont own both or all 4 gaming platforms for that matter.

"...and not be condescended to by spencer..." Honestly I feel more people are condescending to Xbox owners here than anything Phil has ever said, take your entire comment its nothing but condescending attitude toward anyone who would dare own just an Xbox.

Just...

I dont think combining them outright is a good idea. I would like them to keep Gold separate but if you are a Gamepass Subscriber it also subscribes you for gold. That way if you dont want what Gamepass offers you have your ~$60/yr payment and if you do have Gamepass its only ~$120/yr rather than ~$180 total.

Options are almost always good.

Wait a "Creative rut" what do you think happened to Too Human? It was a disaster of a development ending in a lawsuit and all non-sold copies were pulled from store shelves afterwords.

Dont get me wrong I played a ton of that game and wished there would have been the other planned releases but that game didnt just suffer a creative rut it was a dumpster fire of finger pointing and blame.

I think that was my first 100% achievement game.

If this is what you want just buy a PS4... Why do people still feel the need to be tied down to one brand?

They are like $250 bucks and if you are a gamer that really isnt a ton of money after 5 years into the generation.

Basically if you saved $5/month you could have a PS4 by now had you bought an Xbox one on release.

Everyone knows (Including MS) that the Xbox brand is lacking in quality exclusive content writing a story about it eve...

So two games in a row both "allegedly" rushed and we are supposed to give it a pass because the game is the victim rather than Bungie bearing the responsibility to release a solid game and it stuttered twice.

Destiny 1 fell way short of its proposed vision and Destiny 2 decided to build a house on top of the empty carcass.

The game may not be "dead" but it is dying and unless they breathe some solid new ideas of life into Destiny 3 it ...

Their whole job is to find ways to make it fun and break it up. If they cant why did they make the game to begin with and put it on a decade long plan?

The assumptions made by the author are a stretch and actually rather insulting to any development team. I'm sure anyone making a game thinks they have that "something" different that will draw players in. To assume they just think open world = $$$ is laughable. Not to mention the author brought up three games as good examples but only two as bad examples making the scale of open world games by this author still tipping in the favor of good games while also not being honest that ...

"The early trailers for Far Cry 5 had some people nervously wondering if the game was going to be about shooting white Republicans."

I thought people were complaining that Far Cry 5 was possibly about shooting people "Others" would consider "white republicans" and lets not forget "Christians"

I dont think any "white republicans" or Christians watched the trailer and went "Yep, those are the same type ...

I bought it... I have a hard time recommending it to others. The way quests are given and the scenery and atmosphere are great. But everything else feels like a giant leap backwards in a game.

I was playing it this weekend and I drove past a group of friendlies went a little ways and turned around and drove back and it had swapped them out with different group. the spawn and despawn distance is so short it makes this game burdensome. You can clear out a building see a dear ...

I learned that people love tribalism and cant seem to let other people like things they do not like even though the impact to their life is essentially zero.

I love how people like to bring up just "using" your old console like thats really an easy option... When is the last time anyone tried to plug their NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, SEGA, PS1, PS2, Xbox, X360 in to a new TV? I only ask because it usually isnt plug and play without adapters. I remember having to buy adapters for my PS2 and I would have to buy them again (Different ones) if I wanted to plug it in to a new tv.

Its not just the console and the games that c...

"If its visually superior of course ppl will buy it again." <- The answer I use when people ask Why buy an Xbox One X when you own an Xbox One?

@TKCMuzzer

Yes but that was because my VHS player couldnt play DVDs and my DVD player couldnt play BlueRay. But I sure bought less videos on blueray since it played my DVDs I didnt go back and buy hundreds of movies over again... why? because the Blueray plays DVDs (Back...

Would have still been a better ending than Mass Effect 3.

I have definitely broke even on the game just by selling crates and crate items. I play the game for fun and sell the "spoils of war."

But Nothing compares to how easy it was to make money in Diablo III before the gutted the market.

Swing and a miss.

Way to totally ignore my basic argument (We are told by people how influential media can be, while also saying this media is not influential), state what I said as your own rebuttal (It does not rest on the shoulders of videogames alone) and then throw in their "some studies" ...Well some studies showed smoking was good for you, climate change is a hoax, and that video games are bad for you... that is what "some" studies show so forgive...

Let me get this straight I've been told Facebook articles influenced an election, magazine models influence self esteem and perception of beauty, portrayals of people on TV influence acceptance... But there is NO WAY videogames influence children in negative ways?

I am not an anti violence in video game person by any stretch of the imagination but I am also not blind in realizing SOMETHING has changed. It does not rest on the shoulders of videogames alone but to say it&...
