Why can't we expect all the bells and whistles? It's been 3 generations of online gaming and consoles and you are just going to give them a pass because they "just started"?
They have had plenty of time to make it right Nintendo is not a tiny company, they should be knocking it out of the park since they have all the data they need to know what features are good and what features didn't work.

Its not "gamers" its people. Go say one thing that people dont like not related to video games and you will get a bunch of crap. Seriously go tweet about your favorite team, or the polatician you voted for, or the state you like to live in, if you have any amount of visibility you will get toxicity.
Has nothing to do with "gamers" it has to do with people having no discipline, respect, and personal responsibility.
I dont think anyone is downplaying its significance but the fact of the matter is you dont need social media.
People choose to be on social media and with that choice comes the knowledge that peoples parents raised a bunch of assholes and they are their too. If you dont want to participate then dont. It is simple, just unplug. Social media is a waste of energy and I prefer to waste my time on things I enjoy (like videogames), if people are talking shit about you all day why...

To be fair most people said the beginning was really slow and it picks up later so it may get more interesting as you progress and unlock different fighting options and attacks.
So only opinions you want to hear need to be shared.
Like another article that says how awesome GoW is... Because we don't already have 40 of those in the last week another one of those is fine but how dare we have an article with an opinion that is actually different than others overall view of the game. Tell that guy to STFU because no one would want an actual community of diverse opinions.

It must be nice to sit in the majority group of people who will love this game. But for some of us it is also nice to know we are not alone, when we happen to not like what everyone is clammerimg for.
People said the same thing after BotW came out to high praise so let's not pretend GoW is the only one that had to deal in great reviews and a few articles from people who didn't like it.

I think it is a larger problem than just a system that is built well. I love loot based games Diablo, Borderlands, Path of Exiles, and many others. What makes a game have too much loot for me is poor loot management. Too Human and a few other games threw loot at you but it was easy to dispose of, you could tell the game to just dump all the loot below a certain teir. I wish more games with heavy loot mechanics had this type of system.

Why is the assumption that if it doesnt have a SP component that means the team didnt put as many resources into the game?
So if the game took more money to develop and took more resources than any previous game, because its leaving out what some people want it shouldnt charge full price?

Players already ran out of things to do... You can't retroactively say you won't run out of things to do when we add more things to do that is different than the last things to do but will ultimately be the same new things to do and once you have done said things you will wait for more new things because you again ran out of interesting things to do.
There is no point to the progression of this game other than cosmetics, so for none vain people there is no point to ...
Although briefly touched on (rocket league) the author fails to realize that cross platform for any game opens the doors for much more... So what if today it is cross platform for fortnight or PUBG tomorrow it could be a racing game, or sports game like FIFA or Madden, then what about Terraria and other co-op games?
