and Rahzel as an unlockable voice. I also wouldn't mind the option to toggle the Run DMC Tricky theme on/off. Also, custom soundtracks for the PS3 please, even though I'll be getting the 360 version. I just don't like how the PS3 always gets shafted in this area. Hopefully, EA learned from the thoroughly unimpressive Tour and Blur. Criterion as developer is a step in the right direction. As long as they don't go the Paradise route and make it so I can't restart a race if I...
That is all.
( for me anyways )
But of all things to collect and cherish from that game, the soundtrack is NOT one of them. At all. Thank God for custom soundtracks is all I'm saying.
But I'm with ya on that. Braid too, btw.
It's the unending regurgitation of high profile franchises that steal the spotlight and overshadow smaller titles that are actually trying to eschew the familiar and uninspired. Much like anything else, everything comes in cycles and while I understand the question ( 'cause it's a valid one ) I think a lot of the sense that games are generally unoriginal stems from the constant refinement of game mechanics. Easy example, Perfect Dark the XBLA version. While nostalgia runs high for that game ...
So pleased to see the Einhander love around here.
I would give one of my hands for Einhander. But, only one. And speaking of one, another great game that should see a PSN release is One. That game was dope. Basically, a single player Contra. If the opening level doesn't grab ya, then somethings really wrong upstairs.
I'm buying that game regardless, but dammit no analog control sucks. Seriously, they should at least leave the option to change control styles. One way for the casuals out there: a la wii mote only. And the other for gamers: a la wii mote and nunchuck. Metroid has never been about the casual, so it should be marketed to them 2nd and to us 1st. Alright, I'm being a bit of a snob about it, but hearing that the wii mote by it's self is the only way to play, made me pout like a little kid. Prime ...
What happened to the good old days when a game was done, it was actually finished. I'm not really a big GT fan, but I dig this man's work ethic. He takes pride in what he puts his name on. Take your time sir, your fans will thank you for it.
I understand what you're saying though, I've gotten used to that patch until perfect approach too. Which is why I won't disagree but, I appreciate this level of dedication. We need more of it, so I endorse it.
Bujingai: The Forgotten City, and this game was pretty good to boot. One of the sickest parrying systems you'll ever see in a game. I'm actually really surprised nobody's ripped it off. It's PS2 and very rare ( I got one! ) If you ever come across it, check it out.
Edit: Oh yeah. The tie in to my statement here is that I think Bujingai is Gackt's first video game appearance. In a hack n' slash no less.
I'm afraid that's the only thing from them that would either shock me or get me stoked. Otherwise, just the same old PR hype b.s. coming from a different angle. ( seems to be all the rage these days ) I know Xenogears is a big deal for many, and that coming true seems a bit more likely than my unending Eihander remake fantasy. *sigh*
No thanks.
Ha. I thought the same thing.
One of the few games I took the time to master to beat without dying. Tried that with R-Type too, it didn't really work out that well for me though. I beat it, but it wasn't sexy.
... and Forgotten Worlds
EDIT: Whoops, Forgotten Worlds is Capcom. Oh well, they need to make that anyway, so... glad I said it.
... and Wipeout XL. I'm glad to see Super Metroid up there, but to miss these two is sacrilege.
That was Echoes... man.
Edit: Oh the heading says Corruption and the video says Echoes. My bad, kinda.
Ya crazy kid. What are you from Australia or something?... Hmm... come to think of it, that's actually a good idea. If a game pisses you off enough and you throw the controller it'll come back to you! Genius! I take it back, revive the boomerang! Captain Tuttle, my friend, you are indeed wise.
But I do remember a certain statement made by our good friend Kutagari san who suggested that it wouldn't matter what price tag ( defending the $599 of it all ) they put on the PS3, the masses would be enamored/ stupid enough to buy it regardless. We see how well that worked out. Unfortunately, I was one of those sheep. I don't regret it though, I love my 60 gig fatty. But come on, ya gotta admit, for a long time, if you looked up arrogant in the dictionary...
Being 1st for that ...
Throw a little bit of writhing in there for a more dramatic effect and we have ourselves a "winner".
