They had to rethink a lot of stuff after E3 when they had to remove DRM due to backlash.
I think it was wrong to try and force DRM on us, but it does leave me thinking of what kind of features always on could have given us.
I'd wager they removed some core features while they were redesigned/restructured so they could still rush the console to market in time for the holidays.
I don't believe in buying into this whole insider info thing but if true, could turn out to be the best of the series and maybe even rival games such as GTA/Watch Dogs in the sandbox department.
To be fair, they are addressing most UI complaints. They are doing a great job imo.
They have a good base, just need to polish and expand with more features.

I must have been sleeping for the past 6 years but especially within the last 3-4, the consensus of the PS3 has been rather positive.
One act of good faith doesn't make up for the many bad ones.
I prefer Xbox as a whole, own both the PS3 and 360, but you won't find me in every article bashing the Playstation. I will comment on issues, but I will not make it a mission of life to go into ANY article related to Sony just to bash and have a circle jerk with others for momentary feelings of acceptance.

I suggest you look up the symptoms for overheating. The console doesn't always just stop working. Things start slowing down/glitching. If it was overheating, it's still very possible for the UI to be working, but running a game could be more complicated.

It's a month until launch. If one of the two consoles are freezing, I'm pretty sure it should be reported on.
What more credibility do you need? There's a video of a PS4 having freezing issues during gameplay. Overheating was a potential reason for the freezing. The update even states it was in a closed box. Do I know if it overheated? Nope. Should it be reported on in case other incidents happen? I think so.

Not sure how widespread the issues people are having are. I'm playing the PSN digital version and it appears to be fine. Nothing out of the ordinary and it's an amazing game.

I just counted up all the Halo games, and all the GT games(minus the PSP version) and we're looking at a 15 million difference, 17-18 with the PSP sales included. Hardly 20-30 million as you claimed.
Considering the massive sales of the PS1 and PS2, the GT series should have looped Halo in overall sales a few times. Sony sold over a hundred million more consoles than Microsoft ...
