Ya, I gotta say, I was hoping for a Dark Cloud 3 or PS3 Tales of game when I first read PS3 exclusive JRPG...
I was hoping this would be a suitable replacement for Ace Combat, but it seems like it may just be like the other Tom Clancy games - great games by design but lacking in personality and individuality. Ace Combat is great, not only because of stellar gameplay but compelling plot and characters as well, so it's better than HAWX. Same with Metal Gear and Splinter Cell.
The whole thing is just sensationalist media at it's finest. There was no hub bub when the bad guys were latino or white, I don't see why there is any now.

i agree with Jun... resident evil 5 is it's own game. people need to stop comparing it to gears of war, it isn't the same game and shouldn't have the same control scheme. i mean, i don't see anyone complaining that halo wars doesn't play like starcraft. they are there own games, and shouldn't play exactly like each other.
god of war 3 would have been such a nice cap to the year though. well, hopefully the rest make it out in 2009, and some SCEE/SCEJ games like gran turismo and what not.
On the one hand, it's odd that they announced it the way that they did if it's not at least a timed exclusive. Then again, MS loves to slap you in the face with that 'only on XBox' stuff, but there was none of that here. Plus, the other game was multiplatform too...

I dunno about going THAT far. I feel like RE5 is still gonna be good on it's own merits, the co-op is great! I just think Capcom realized they need to keep the series fresh, and bring it back to it's roots. PLEASE BRING ZOMBIES BACK!
Sounds scary... the Resident Evil 4 reboot worked because they had a masterful game designer in Shinji Mikami behind it. Don't get me wrong, Jun is a great game designer too, but I'm fearful as to what it could become.

I always thought it was hilarious when people equate the PS3 to the Gamecube. Video games are HUGE now. There is NEVER going to be a console with lifetime sales of only 20 million again. Both the 360 and PS3 will hit 50 million AT LEAST in their life time, and the Wii will hit over 100 million easy. All 3 companies are due to enjoy some big successes.
