Some people have it in their head that a 7 is AN amazingly bad SCORE. Yet on the scale of 1-10, a 7 is above average, it's 'good'.
But I guess 'good' isn't good enough for some people. But it says a lot about a game when it's lowest score is a number that represents 'good'.
Great review. I love that the reviewer acknowledges that not every game needs to reinvent the genre to be successful or enjoyable. The first game laid a solid foundation that PG built upon for the second game. I'm sure the vast majority of players will be happy with that.
What do you mean "only"? 84 is a great score!
I hate the mentality that anything less than a 9 is average these days. That's 16 points away from a perfect score...how in the hell does that deserve an "only"?

I don't agree with this review, personally, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. People need to learn to take the "bad" with the good. There will be some reviewers who don't like a game as much as you do, or as much as the majority do.
Personally, I'd agree with the 8.5 - 9.0 range of scores. 7 seems a little low from what I played of the demo.
Great score. Seems about right from what I played of the demo. It looks like it's took the same formula as the first game, and improved upon it. Which is exactly what I wanted.
I have my pre-order locked in...now I wait.
Take a look at DC last year, then take a look at it now. Vast improvement in every area. I'm glad Sony/Evo had the sense and the courage to take the risk (I say courage because delays can make people lose hype/interest, and a delay is usually associated with something negative, which in turn might negatively influence public perception of the game), rather than release an unfinished, less enjoyable game purely to meet a certain release window.

The game is 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1, that's not bashing, that's reporting facts. Every single game that gets released has it's technical info reported on this site. If that technical info is consistently in PS4's favour...that's no one fault but MS's. They should have made their console more powerful and easier to work with.

I never have and never will. A collection of opinions from individuals with different perceptions and tastes to me is no match for watching gameplay on YT or a livestream and deciding for myself.

This game is a classic example of when too much hype is a bad thing. And the fact it's from someone as huge and as loved as Bungie didn't help at all, it just increased the hype to beyond realistic levels.
