The lighting, textures, and vegetation are vastly improved on the X1. That's a generational difference to me.

I'll keep DC for a good few months before I trade it in. I trade in the vast majority of my games.
I'm buying FH2 day one, then trading it in towards DC when that releases, or shortly after.
Then I'll trade DC in towards PC eventually. Much cheaper than buying them all separately for £120.

DC looks amazing, a complete visual step ahead of anything else in the genre, imo. And from what I've heard, the handling feels weighty yet responsive. It sounds amazing, I can't wait.

No, they didn't just say the exact opposite, lol. Events like E3 are planned months in advance...you really think they saw what MS said and then had a quick meeting and changed their entire conference script in the space of a few hours? Don't be naive.
No doubt MS screwing up helped them, but that was in no way the main, or only thing that made the PS4 sell as well as it was/is.
You can't just create hype out of thin air. You have have to have a foundation on which to base that hype.
Sony has 20 years of foundation, the more powerful console, and marketing rights to one of the biggest IP's of the year.
