The salt.
I can taste it in the air.
Mmmmmm. It's like being at the seaside as a child.
And I guess this means it really was a "Forza killer"...at least in the UK.
XD
Congrats to Evo. I can't speak for the state of the game at launch, but I bought DC a week or two ago and I love it. It isn't perfect, but the part that matters - the racing - is top notch.
And I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these sales were because of the hype surrounding the weather update. The amount of people I saw on NeoGAF say that they were going to buy DC after seeing a GIF of the weather effects was crazy. Instant game-seller.
@Me-time
Nah, I'm thinking UC4 will be the last UC. I think they will focus on a TLoU sequel and a new IP from now on.
I'm thinking: UC4 > TLoU sequel (2017) > new IP (late 2018/19, end of the gen).
Are you blind? It says right there in the title that they were "aiming" for 60fps. And once again in the article itself.
Lmao. This is a prime example of what I was saying above. People misreading quotes and then call the devs out for lying. This is exactly why devs should just shut their mouths about res or framerate until they are 100% certain.
"After all the fuss Sony and their fanboys made about 1080p/60fps, now it doesn't matter? Hypocrites much!"
Ah, the old 'take what one person says and use that to generalize millions of people and then call them hypocrites for what they didn't even say' tactic. Nice.
It's good to see the stupidity-level on N4G hasn't changed over the past few months. I think i may start commenting here more often again.
And F...
@thereapersson
As I said, I have no issue with 30fps at all, as long as it's solid. Games like Driveclub and Forza Horizon 2 feel great to play to me because of how steady their framerates are. A solid 30fps is a hell of an improvement over the sub-30fps crap we had for the majority of games last-gen.
I just wish ND wouldn't have said anything about UC4's framerate until they were 100% certain what it was going to be. Most gamers have no real idea...
People need to let go of that 1080p 60fps-as-standard dream. Seriously. The vast majority of games we see this gen will be 30fps. I mean, the vast majority of current-gen games we have already this gen are 30fps.
Most devs are going to go for 30fps with extra bells and whistles over 60fps because bells and whistles sell, framerate doesn't. That's just the harsh truth of console development.
If I recall correctly, they only said that the reveal trailer was running at 60fps. They never actually confirmed that the game will run at 60fps, only that they were "aiming" for it.
And this is another reason why devs shouldn't talk about framerate until they are 100% certain of what it will be - people misread quotes and then get all up in arms.
There was no way this game was ever going to be 60fps with the same level of graphical fidelity in the reveal trailer. I said this when it was first revealed and I got a crap ton of disagrees (naturally). Mark my words, this game will be 30fps.
Not that I mind, I have no problem with 30fps. But I think devs need to stop talking about the framerate of their games until they are 100% certain of their target.
Not if they release for Xbox One.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Oh, you think we'll get a new IP before a TLoU sequel? I see. I thought you meant that we would get UC4 then a TLoU sequel in 2018. XD
I personally think we will get a TLoU sequel after UC4, then a new IP towards the end of the gen.
Nah, I don't think it will be that late. I'd say mid-late 2017. I also think ND will end this gen with a new IP.
Fingers crossed. :P
I believe all they said is that all of their attention is on UC4 at the moment. A sequel to TLoU isn't even on the cards yet. The furthest they've gotten is brainstorming possible ideas, so how can a sequel be on hold if it doesn't even exist yet?
It would run like crap, be dumbed-down enough for a newborn baby to play it, and half the game would be cut to be sold as paid DLC.
I'm getting Wolfenstein tomorrow. No idea why I waited this long to buy it. I've heard great things about it so I'm pretty excited.
Screw metacritic scores, BF4 is the best shooter so far this gen imo. It's had it's problems, but it's the best in the genre when it works properly.
Ha, yeah. You gotta have balls of steel to keep your foot down with some of the higher-tier cars. And the incredible sense of speed this game has only adds to the tension of driving fast.
Or even better - have them fall on the windshield of the car and gather all along the bottom.
Five free DLC tracks this month alone? Awesome.
