I’m thinking GameStop removed the banner because Microsoft wanted to be the first to announce the name change next week when Phil Spencer speaks. Looks like the cat is out of the bag now.
Plague-Doctor27…I was going to add that but it still would serve them better to just allow a full retail release of those games even if delayed.
That would never work unless they allowed Sony a much larger revenue share. Gamepass takes away from actual game sells and that is how Sony makes their money.
I recall Phil Spencer saying from the jump that exclusivity would be on a game by game basis. What would be shocking is if something like Starfield eventually releases elsewhere because that was the de facto system
seller.
Your comment would make more sense if they allowed GamePass on rival consoles as well. As long as GamePass remains exclusive to XBOX consoles it would keep their consoles as a relevant option.
The way I see it 95% of the games releasing every year are not for me anyway. As long as I continue to get some compelling single player experiences every year I’m good. When those stop coming then it’s time to hang up the sticks.
You’ve been a jackass since your Dualshocker days. I see not much has changed.
I don’t see the benefit of keeping in-game content exclusive for a timed period. People who played the game at launch are not likely to load it up again just to play what was held back.
An entire game being timed makes more sense because once it releases people who haven’t played it at all are more likely to pick it up. Like XBox players now playing Sifu or PlayStation players soon playing Hi-Fi Rush.
Well apparently the big retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are purging their physical games stock as we speak.
PlayStation will probably follow suit soon.
No one likes it but this is the direction the industry is going. No physical consoles will be next.
I just finished playing CyberPunk and I mowed down at least 200 human beings. No one is speaking up against cruelty to humans in video games so imagine how stupid PETA looks with this.
It’s as if some of you are celebrating that this is happening and you know who you are. Get a life.
Until Dawn the game was a movie, so not sure what a movie version of the game can do. Also the game had choices that changes the story as you went through it.
Also since there wasn’t much as far as gameplay I am not sure what significant differences a PS5 version can bring.
To each its own I suppose.
I didn’t brand it as bad. I’m comparing it to another big budget single player game that’s short.
Wolfenstein Old Blood was a DLC, A Way Out was damn near an indie game and Titan Fall 2 was more multilayer focused. I don’t think they compare at all.
The Order 1886 all over again.
Playing Devil’s advocate here.
You pay $18 to go and see a movie in theaters one time and you don’t own it.
You pay $50-$70 for a digital game that you play for 12-100 hours and can return to it as much as you’d like for the foreseeable future.
It’s really not that big of a deal.
🤦🏾♂️
Oh ok.
Didn’t Sony just announce a record number of subscribers a couple of weeks ago at CES?
When in history has any Indiana Jones game made an impact? It may be a good game but it will not move the needle.
😂
