And that's why they are "poor". These companies look ahead and don't stop investing in the future even when there are losses (and perhaps R&D has mounted up into some of the losses). Sony doesn't need to do all of the R&D anymore, there are plenty of companies selling modified versions of their own CPU (like nVidia, Intel, IBM, etc) so that Sony could own the IP and at the same time not spend so much on R&D (like it happened with the RSX).
Even if Nintendo didn't say that, Nintendo is dragging the industry down with shovelware. Oh, and the Wiimote didn't exist 8 years ago, but the power glove existed in NES times. And you know what? Even if the Wiimote is a "highly refined" version of the power glove, it has not enhanced games. It's not better, just new. That's why people call the Wii a novelty and then stop using it after a month of having it.
I have a Wii but it's sadly my least used console.
Third Parties sell nothing on the Wii, or if they do they aren't games that are worthy of a glance. Lack of tech on the Wii makes its games look and play like the same games we started playing 8 years ago.
What about Link?
=)
Product, the point I'm trying to make here isn't to counter his opinion, because I do agree that to each his own. It's just a statement of how no serious gamer cares about most of those games, because we've already seen that before, especially rail shooters. Yeah, good for you, you have an opinion on games. Still, those games are old in terms of gameplay and technology. It's time to move on unless you never played these games OR unless you don't really care about playing innovative games and ...
Enjoying last-gen? We're already past that. Most of the games you mention are garbage anyway. All of them could be done on PS2 or gamecube.
:)
"Mario Galaxy" What should have been a gamecube game
"Metroid Prime 3" Played the gamecube versions
"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess " Gamecube game
"Mario Kart Wii " Worst mario kart ever
"Sumer Smash Bros. Brawl " Melee 1.5
On one side you have Bladestar, JOY, POG, POG(Truth Hurts) and POG(Why dis) pating their own backs and only god knows what they do to each other in private. They are rejoicing over a relatively minor lead. It's not that 360 should be doing better, I guess it's ok, but in the end it took desperate measures from Microsoft to get where they are: No HDD, no next-gen drive, and, believe it or not, taking a hit on the cheapest SKU. It's unlikely that they're making a profit on the cheapest 360. ...
Microsoft are f***ing pigs. Now I understand why its fanboys behave like they do. Stupid robots.
When the infamous E3 2005 trailer was shown, development hadn't even started. The Cell processor was barely finished in the summer of 2006. We're barely in the 1st quarter of 2009. That's LESS than 3 years of hands-on with the Cell-processor. Furthermore, this is an October 2008 build. Even if the game was filled with glitches, YOU wouldn't know since you don't own and don't plan to own a PS3.
Go back to school and learn some math, failure.
Are its shoulder buttons, everything else is excellent on the Dualshock. However, the gamecube's D-pad, triggers and analogue sticks were the best. So I would take the Dualshock's face buttons (including start, select and PSN button), Nintendo's D-pad, analogue sticks and triggers, and Microsoft's shoulder buttons. I would also choose either the Dualshock's or the wavebird's shape. NOT the 360 controllers shape.
He is a troll, that's why his "news" aren't news, just headlines to get hits.
Assassyn "360"?
SNES was losing against Sega Genesis until Street Fighter and Zelda were released, and Sega started releasing many useless add-ons.
PS1 started slow.
Dreamcast started great.
Not saying things *will* change, saying things *can* change and that nothing is certain. After all, 360 started from horrible in Japan to below average.
Are you one of those losers that believes trends are never broken? ...
"Lol. Yeah, lets take all the backwoods scores from sites that people have never heard of from the backwoods blogging site, N4G. No. I would take Metacritics word over scores from places in the world that probably can not even get this game."
So you rather take Metacritic, which puts mostly scores from sites whose revenue depends on the businesses (i.e. paid lobbyists) than actually honest sites whose traffic depends on the quality of their work rather than the streng...
"Gears-like"? Umm, more like "Killswitch-like", because that's where Gears' cover system comes from.
"the dev kits had been in the hands of developers for nearly as long for both consoles,"
That's a flat out lie. The first dev kits for 360 were given away little after Halo 2's release. Developers had already been working with early Xbox 360 dev kits by then, that's why they were able to show initial builds of quite many 360 games during E3 2005. The final dev kits were received around Xbox 360s launch.
On the other hand, the only game we saw running r...
"It's awesome how a game that is suppossed to look this bad has gotten much better review scores than Killzone 2 "
Awesome? Yeah, money can do wonders my friend.
Anyway, Killzone 2 has about 125 reviews down here at N4G and has a 9.3 average. On the other hand, Halo has about 40 reviews and a 8.9 average. Why don't you Halo fanboys gather as many reviews as you can to crank up that score? Hell, go to metacritic and put only the best scores here, it mig...
Considering you're a sore dreamcast loser. Still mad about Sony's dominance last-gen, huh?
Edit:
Man that was an awesome video, lol.
Xbox 360, leader in DLC, Attach rates and failure rates.
The next PS3 having 4 cell processors? That's VERY realistic. Low cost, not as big as a jump as it was from PS2 to PS3, and of course, that's what the PS3 was actually *intended* to be.
Also, on the Intel rumor... well, Sony owns the GPU design unlike Microsoft with its first Xbox. In fact, Sony sold an RSX manufacturing plant to Toshiba, so Sony doesn't depend on nVidia. nVidia simply tweaked the 7900 GTX and sold the IP rights to Sony.
Sony can tweak it or produce it ...
I would throw away my iPhone if Sony made the PSP2 capable of turning into a cellphone, and capable of adding any camera I want, as OPTIONS. As for the core gaming features, 1-4 touch screens, two additional triggers and another analogue nub would suffice. Make the iPhone nill, make me throw my iPhone away.
