He is basically saying DirectX 12 may not help indies since they are more focused on making the game. The DX12 features are exciting but in the end it may not appeal to the indies.
I have a feeling that Microsoft's claim of making the Xbox One 32 times faster than it already is, seems to be a marketing ploy.
I doubt we will see any retail games using it for a long time.
It's not necessarily a head-to-head since we'll only find out about the full extent of the visual details when both games are out and running side-by-side.
That's from the article.
sam_job has a valid point abriael. Plus videogamer has a history of posting this information before anyone else.
You being tipped off is pretty shady just like your rumor for yesterday.
@pedrof93 This post is about Forza 5 not about DX12 or resolution
I kind of doubt this rumor is true. I can assume that some of the games will be shown at E3 and am all for it. But Rockstar taking center stage at E3 is shady information.
Rockstar have traditionally not been a consistent attendee at E3. I highly doubt this will change. I think this part debunks the source of this rumor.
I rather keep my expectations at a minimum and take this rumor with a tank of salt!
To be followed with: What's happening to Sony?
I would like to see Black Dessert on both the Xbox One and PS4. It needs to be on next gen. But being a Korean developer, I am not sure what of business challenges they will face.
So Digital Foundry is 'assuming' the resolution from a trailer. Interesting.
It's a shame if Carmack did this. But I highly doubt he would have done anything on purpose. He is a genius and given that he was working on the same virtual design at Zenimax and Oculus, ideas will get transferred regardless.
The question is why it took so long for Zenimax to actually claim this.
I would take 30fps over 60fps IF it helps the game have intelligent AI and physics, and improved gameplay mechanics, two of the most important elements of AI.
But my honest opinion, and am sure I will get a lot of disagrees, Evolution does not seem to have done a great deal into adding new gameplay mechanics. It's still the same. Agreed the game looks astonishing, but the gameplay system is the same we saw at E3.
A little disappointed but I look forward ...
Makes sense. Have bubbles!
Umm..Gameinfomer runs a single story about each game for a month. Of course, I am not comparing myself to Gameinformer but I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. The interview is very [very] long, so best to split it in parts.
On a side note, does anyone think The Last Guardian will be re-revealed at E3?
DayZ?
I think it's definitely 60fps. They did announced last year at E3 that it was 30fps, so am sure they have definitely reached 60fps, otherwise they would have already announced it today.
It seems like it will be an open world role playing game. It could be free to play but they can also take the route of micro-transactions.
My bet is that it will be something similar to Bungie's Destiny. No monthly subscription and make profit via micro-transactions.
I know am probably going to receive a few disagrees but I have to agree with him on this one. I don't think there is enough ground work for VR at the moment. May be after 5 years but definitely not now.
@@Meltic no doubt it will look good on PS4. But TXAA makes it even sharper.
@Meltic No it's not. But it's easily one of the best solutions available.
Hence it may not be beneficial to indie development.
