Since when is it news that Sony is going to make an action-adventure game that features "intense violence and potential profanity?" That has been their go-to formula for almost a decade now.
I enjoy the completely rational takes here that players no longer playing a live-service game is normal and is in no way negative outcome for a game designed around keeping players engaged.
The amount of mental gymnastics some perform to defend negative news is amusing.
"The “97%” number cited is exclusively regarding Steam players at 4am EST the Tuesday after an American holiday."
I'm curious as to what American holiday you celebrated on Monday July 8?
I'm sure having less customers will do wonders for easing pressure
"Did anyone really expect for Sony to put their first party devs on PSVR2 to develop games"
Yeah, pretty crazy of me to expect Sony to put out first-party PSVR2 games like they did with PSVR's Astro-bot Rescue Mission and Blood&Truth - not to mention Playstation VR Worlds and RIGS, as well as first-party VR ports of Everybody's Golf, Driveclub, Super Stardust Ultra, Wipeout Omega Collection, and GT Sport.
I'm pretty sure if some...
I feel like I'm in a time machine and reading stories about PSVR2. It was just a year ago that we were told that initial sales proved PSVR2 naysayers wrong. How's that doing today?
Sony isn't being treated any differently. Gamers are now seeing Sony the same way that they see other publishers like EA, Ubisoft, Activision/Blizzard, and 2K. All this login business has shown is that there is plenty of room down in the mud for Sony to be alongside all the rest.
Perhaps if Sony hadn't spent 10 years saying "For the players" gamers would be more forgiving to anti-player practices.
I see even the analysts cannot wait until PlayStation 9 gets here.
If you're male why do you use a female profile pic on n4g?
Did you really just try to list a bunch of games not developed by Sony studios and try to claim that Sony is just as bad as Microsoft? Come back when you can cobble together a list of Sony first-party problems that comes close to the ones perpetuated by Microsoft Game Studios (better be more than just Killzone 2 because that game still looks amazing today and has the critic's score to back up its gameplay).
FABLE LEGENDS!!! XBox has deceived gamers so many times that I completely forgot about a game that Microsoft promoted heavily during multiple E3s only to cancel it later.
Redfall and Starfield are just the latest examples why nobody should ever trust XBox advertising. Hololens, Crackdown 3, Phantom Dust Remake, and Scalebound are some of the other major offenders in the last decade. Games like Halo: Master Chief Collection and Sea of Thieves were horrible at launch.
I like how both of you just proved my point. MajorLazer thinks pronouns don't matter unless you use the wrong one and HankHill thinks pronouns don't matter but is shocked when someone assumes one's gender.
I don't understand why people who get upset about pronouns are the first ones to correct you if you use the wrong one. I'm sure you're a nice girl but would probably get offended when someone started using he/him when addressing you.
If the best thing you have to play of your PS5 is games made by non-Sony studios, why does Sony need to own 16+ game studios? Why do you even need to have a PS5, when most of the game you listed are available to play on PC - or will be given Sony's recent track record. You can play those games and not have to pay $80 year for online.
I'm tired of hearing "they just don't want to announce too early." That's just the new version for "wait for...
Why bother going to shows when you have nothing to show? Playstation first-party games have dried up for several years now, with us getting usually just 1 a year. As long as PS5 continues to sell well, Sony has no incentive to make more games and fanboys will continue to defend them.
Is it really a review bomb if the game deserves it?
What's funny is that this game is being made in China yet you somehow think they are free from "political correctness and censorship." You sheep never fail to amuse me.
What does Microsoft have to do with Sony barely releasing any first party games in the past few years? Am I supposed to go out and buy an XBox so that I can feel better about only having Spider-Man 2 as a major first party game in 2 years? Will buying an XBox make me not notice that almost every PS5 exclusive game is now on PC or that Sony hasn't actually announced any first party exclusives for 2025 yet?
There's really only one good video-game tv/movie adaptation and that is Fallout. Everything else has just been bad (like Halo) or pointless (like The Last of Us). The Borderlands franchise is about to be completely trashed by its upcoming movie.
