Again, when the xbox one launch there was no indie program, Micrsofts plan for the console was to require all games to have a publisher and not to allow self publishing.
Yes, it was a change from 360, but a change they tried to make.
If it wasn't for PlayStation 4's strong support of indies, xbox consoles wouldn't have self-publishing.
When they announced the xbox one the plan was that all games needed to have a publisher. There was going to be no self-publishing on xbox one.
You may remember the big deal that was made over the fact that PlayStation still offered self-publishing at the time.
You may recall they had to announce a change to their plans announcing id@xbox right before the console's launch after the backlash, then the program didn't even get started until after ...
Ah yes, good old id@xbox, the hastily put together indie program they had to invent and rush out the door several years after xbox one's launch. Microsoft's plan to eliminate indies by forcing all games to have a major publisher before they could even be on the xbox storefront. How consumer friendly!
Good thing PlayStation was there to have indies as their focus, imagine how the industry would have been different if indies didn't exist... that's the future...
If they did so good on 360 then why do they sell so badly now? And why did Microsoft almost completely cut ties with all but the very biggest publishers, heck the reason Yakuza was PlayStation only on PS3/4 was because Microsoft refused the game on xbox because it was "too Japanese".
Perhaps they never sold good on xbox which is why the worst years in the history of Japanese game publishing and development were when the 360 was popular. So many studios from the P...
How many times has Bloomberg been incorrect about PlayStation (and other companies) information?
They are always trying to damage Sony's business and investment value.
I'll wait for numbers from Sony.
And second, people don't understand how PSVR works from a business standpoint. PSVR is a luxury device, Sony isn't looking to sell huge numbers, what they are looking for is software sales. People who buy a PSVR have a lot...
People will realize streaming only subscriptions were a bad idea when it costs them as much as their internet per month and they no longer have the option to buy games.
Microsoft and its cronies are basically arguing that Sony can't even have exclusive games in Japan, their home country. This is as much of an attack on Japanese game publishers as Sony.
It's sad that anyone would support what is going on here, there is no scenario where gaming as an industry is improved by this. The only one who gains is Microsoft… and no, not you, the xbox users, you're going to lose too.
Gamers supporting Microsoft in this are going to ruin gaming for everyone.
Sony is the market leader because they have made games and done things gamers liked, Microsoft is where it is because they have constantly tried to push gaming in ways that only benefit themselves People who think Microsoft isn't going to abuse their monopoly only have to look at what they have been doing for the past 40 years on PC.
The thing is, this is how Microsoft always operates, virtually everything they say is some kind of lie deception or misdirection.
You can hit the character limit before you can post links to half the legal cases they have lost for anticompetitive practices, anticonsumer practices and lying or purposely misleading investors.
They are obviously lying, even basic knowledge of game development times pretty much ensures a game like this was in development for at least 2 years before Microsoft bought them.
So not only are they lying, they are calling an employee who was actually being honest a liar. This is Microsoft, this is the company people are cheerleading. This is the new work environment for people swept up in these purchases, you are now expected to lie for Microsoft. Just watch, this guy w...
And who cares about all the PlayStation owners who may lose 10's of thousands of dollars worth of games in the process.
There was an article on the site about some guy who spent 20k on the wii shop, that's chump change compared to what people may lose if PlayStation fails, Heck many people have 20k in PS+ games across 5+ devices, much less all the digital content they may own.
