I just tried that with my broken ps2. Didn't work. I dusted the lense like you said but when I plugged it in the power still didn't switch on.
Maybe i didn't clean the lense enough?
Could you recommend a cleaning product for it?
XBMC is amazing.
Have it on my xbox and it really is the best media center around.
Why M$ didn't "borrow" a few of it's ideas for their media center and 360 is beyond me.
