This is very stupid, but if you don't have Gold membership, just continue to use your PC like normal. Not really much of a problem, but it's just that MS wants to try and give more value to the Gold membership by adding more services, because they know that eventually PSN will catch up and they will be done for.
Yeah but as he said in his post, the features don't work on some of their games, and they threatened to pull their games if it didn't work. Would be a major problem for Sony if EA pulled their entire lineup, although could EA even afford to do this? I mean their shareholders would be sooooo p*ssed off.
For some reason I don't like how the characters look, the game looks great, but the characters look evil. lol.
@Pirate - Some people can't take it when you speak the truth, that's why you got disagrees. Even I just said that MS must be losing money on the arcade units for them to increase the price, which in my rational mind makes sense. But fanboys are irrational, stupid and blind....
As expected. The price increase is the worst idea ever, but MS must be losing quite a bit of money to need to do this. Should be interesting to see what kind of effect this will have.

They were meant to be overhauling the graphics, so it may look a lot better than the DS version.

True, that's the main reason I want to get this game actually, because of how well LBP turned out. I'm sure when the game is released everyone will start recreating actual tracks e.g. Nurburgring etc. lol that would be awesome.
But that would just make it into a Pro? Which would make no sense, cos then they could just say they are dropping the Arcade unit.
MS makes a lot more money on the Arcade unit when people buy the separate parts for it, I don't think they'll want to drop it.
@1.6 - Imagine if CliffyB started making games exclusive to PS3 and Gears went multiplatform. How would a 360 only owner feel? That is exactly how PS3 only owners feel about Square Enix.
Does look like it's Sony's answer to Mario Kart, but I do still wonder how the sharing feature will work in this game. Surely there can't be much variety in making a racetrack can there?
This is why I keep thinking it will be coming to PS3 (maybe timed exclusive?), because they never deny it, they just fail to mention it every time. Doesn't really matter to me because i have a high-end PC and a 360 as well, but would be good for PS3 only owners to experience this game.

Seems like a strange move from Codemasters, must be some sort of deal Sony worked out with them. Maybe there will be adverts only showing the PlayStation version of the game?
