Not surprising, really. The world's definitely big enough and fleshed-out enough to support it. Really happy to hear that it's under consideration though.
I actually kinda hope it doesn't take off in a big way. Sounds horrible, I know, but I *like* physical media.
I mirror these thoughts - I'm really worried that it's not going to be the be-all-and-end-all that some people are expecting, and I imagine it's going to have a lot of troubles.
That looks pretty... um. Pretty, I guess.
It's good looking, is what I'm trying to say.
Well, that's me sold on Awakening. I was hoping it'd be better than the DLC and this seems to prove it's a hell of a lot more than just a new couple of areas.
Woo! Going to get this downloaded tonight :)
I'm actually loving this idea.
Ubi really don't like PC users much, do they?
There's still reputation, just no romances. I would guess there's still scope for some pretty major stuff based on your rep with certain people at certain points, too...
It's a thorny issue. The problem is that no DRM is infallible, and I suspect that some of the more intrusive types really do put people off from buying it. Compare to games that have no DRM - like, famously, Jedi Knight II, or even more niche titles from places like Stardock - which sold bucketloads.
Seems like the beta's going well, then, if we're getting regular patches.
Woo! Going to have to try this out later :)
Things really do just get worse and worse for Cryptic. I'm not even convinced it's usually their fault - bad timing, problems with publishers, and crap spiraling out of control.
It's getting more publicity now than it was before, mind. It might actually take off this time.
Or we'll end up with another Virtual Boy. Ahem.
Why does this remind me of the original Operation Flashpoint's "cracked versions will slow your computer down imperceptibly but more and more over time" crap?
Might serve as a stopgap while I wait for Jumpgate Evolution. When's that out, again? This side of never?
Good points, well made. Activision needs to change just like EA did.
I honestly can't tell if 3D gaming is a gimmick or not, but as I'm unlikely to decide until I actually play something in 3D, I doubt I'm going to decide for a very long time.
A sad day for fans of innovative and interesting games.
Eee hee hee this looks awesome :D
