As a Vita owner I have to admit, I'm massively underwhelmed by Sony's conference. I've owned one since launch and the only games I'm currently looking forward to are Gravity Rush, Metal Gear Solid HD and Littlebigplanet.
I was hoping a few new franchises would have been announced, something to give the Vita definition.
I don't want to play existing PS3 games on it, and it seems that by shoehorning games such as LBP2 cross play they are si...
After watching both conferences the main thing that I took away with me is that both Microsoft and Sony are in absolutely no hurry to announce new consoles.
I fully expected to come away from this years E3 thinking that yeah, the games coming out over the next 12 month are going to be great quality and send the current consoles out on a high, but roll on E3 '13 already. At this moment in time I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear much about next gen for a good...
Looks like I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get a 3 month subscription. Cheaper than buying LBP2 and Infamous 2 which I was planning on doing eventually anyway.
OverRun looks brilliant, actually. It's basically an awesome cross of beast mode and standard deathmatch. Can't wait!
Ryse? It's been pushed to Xbox 720/Durango apparently. Still going to be a controller/motion hybrid.
I'm guessing this will be sold seperately and that the Wii U console will come with the regular (tablet) controller?
Very nice design, its basically the love child of a 360 pad and a ps3 pad.
Good news that more apps are coming for Vita, although I personally can't imagine watching many YouTube vids on mine. If I'm at home or at a friends house I'd rather use a laptop, and if I'm out I'll always have my phone with me. I guess it's nice having another option though, and that screen IS beautiful.
This sounds awesome!!
I was hoping it would be released digitally for consoles rather than retail, the same as crysis.
Can't wait to see this, hope it's something special.
At this will give us an idea of what the games will look like at at next years E3.
Can't wait for this.
A new engine
I agree 100%, and I believe this is also Microsofts business strategy. It's far easier to part with £10/$15 to simply download a game from the comfort of your own home, rather than paying £40/$60 in stores for a disk based game.
So far this year (off the top of my head) I've bought Fez, American Nightmare, Journey, Trials Evo and Minecraft. The only retail game I've bought is Mass Effect 3.
Good list. I'd have expected at least one metal gear solid title on there though, even in the honourable mentions section.
I'd personally add human revolution, heavy rain and fallout 3.
Decent list, I've been waiting for Tekken 3 to hit PSN. I'd add Nights: into dreams, Shen Mue 1&2 and Black and White.
Deserved.
This. Along with killer instinct and a new conker please.
I think Sony have nailed it with the Vita - release games digitally the day they releases in stores and give consumers a choice. I'd be very surprised if this wasn't standard from day 1 next gen. Hell even Nintendo are going digital these days.
I lost interest completely at the co op gameplay. It doesn't necessarily look bad, it just doesn't stand out. It's not like co op shooters are a rare thing these days.
