Aah I used to have one of these, probably still do somewhere!!
Nice to see how much we've progressed in 25-30 years.
That's a shame, I'd have played through it again on my Vita. Great game but sadly not worth purchasing twice.
I already have this courtesy of PS+ and it's a real gem. Does anyone know if we'll have to purchase the vita version separately?
In all fairness (and not to take anything away from Lost Odyssey) there hasn't exactly been much stellar competition in the turn-based RPG department this gen.
That said, Lost Odyssey was great. It pretty much perfected the old FF structure from previous gens, with gorgeous visuals, audio and a beautiful story to match.
Such a sad game, but I don't mean that as a negative. It's criminal that a sequel was never made.
I'll be happy if I can pick one up at the end of next year. By that point the good old 360 will be 8 years old so it'll be time for MS to put a new console in the spotlight.
I'm actually keeping a close eye on this, it's certainly piqued my interest.
If nothing else I hope it impacts the big three next gen, more specifically MS and Sony. Hopefully it will level the playing field a little.
I hope so, HR was incredible.
I was actually hoping the next Deus Ex game would be next gen though. The art direction of HR could look stunning on better hardware.
I'm happy they're making more of an effort with the story this time around but that is a ridiculously foolish claim.
Can't wait for Deadlight, hope it turns out as good as it looks.
Tried the demo of Tony Hawk HD, wasn't too impressed so going to give that one a miss.
Do you have a media remote? My 360 doesn't make the noises unless I physically press the buttons on the console, its silent with the remote.
Fallout 3 has such a brilliant soundtrack. Can't beat exploring the wasteland and shooting freaks in the head in slow motion while listening to old classics and a bit of Three Dog.
Also, very surprised to see nobody mention any of the GTA games yet. Ever since Vice City they've all had awesome soundtracks.
That does look pretty sweet, but sadly I already own a Gears 360 slim (also 320 GB) which I'm not willing to trade in for this.
If anything I'd want to be trading towards the R2D2 one, that's still the best one I've seen by a long shot.
I really hope next gen console can run multiple applications at the same time and allow us to switch between them at the press of a button or two.
I like the idea of being able to play a game for an hour, switch over to Netflix and watch a movie, then check out the Xbox marketplace or something, then go straight back into my game at the point where I paused it, kind of like the "sleep" feature of the Vita.
Yeah you can do all these things at the m...
Looks awesome, I'm a sucker for good concept art.
Thank you for my new desktop wallpaper!
Sad but true. Hopefully we will see some genuinely exciting looking titles when next gen kicks off, rather than the same old Call of Duty, Halo, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Assassins creed etc.
Not saying they are bad games, but it will be the ideal time to try out some fresh ideas. If they don't work then the developers can easily go back to their safe bets and throw a shinier sequel our way.
It does seem like the obvious choice, at least ahead of the consoles. I couldn't imagine playing this without a touch screen.
Could have been the start of real budget titles hitting the Vita too.
Nice list, especially the MGO one. After all these years (literally!) I hope they come up with something inventive. The trophies in the HD collection are pretty sweet.
I think a large percentage of the existing Wii audience is actually confused about what the Wii U is. A lot seem to think it is merely an add on for their existing Wii console.
Not really. Give people more ways of accessing Netflix and you'll end up with more customers. It's not rocket science.
It just so happens that we live in a day and age where consoles offer a lot more services than merely playing games.
