This makes sense. Xbox Live is a platform, the current 360 is merely a way to access content. Look at how iPhones/iPads currently work.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see upgraded hardware every couple of years. Not massive overhauls, but bigger HDDs, faster processors, more memory etc. All games will be compatible with all hardware to begin with, but eventually we will see different display settings, as seen in Pcs, to suit whatever hardware you have.
So...
Sounds good! Looking forward to playing it.
I thought Halo would have been on there.
What the hell happened to all the single player DLC?!? Mass Effect 2 was one example of DLC actually done right this gen.
I want more characters, extra missions and side stories, to see the worlds fleshed out more and stuff. They could have some really cool missions on smaller planets where you have to turn up and fight off the reapers, with different outcomes for each one, as well as missions that steer away from the reapers completely. Some of the best bits of ME2 had noth...
I don't think the games industry is mature enough, by a long shot. What mature games do we actually have, outside of say, Heavy Rain? The Witcher 2? Mass Effect? The Metal Gear series? Slim pickings.
Writing in games needs to come on a long, long way before an openly gay protagonist would work.
That's assuming their sexuality has any impact on the game. You can be bisexual/gay in Mass Effect and that basically only affects the interaction between th...
This is one game I'd actually like to see a sequel to, but only if they take their time with it and do it properly. Can't imagine how good it will look next gen, HR had such a distinct art style.
I expected more DLC too but in all fairness it's not like it was lacking content to begin with.
Awesome game though, and what a soundtrack!!
Nintendo have such a rich history of games that they could probably release a console using only remakes and it would still be incredible. I'd love to see them remake Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and A Link to the Past from the ground up with awesome graphics (like the ones shown in the Wii U tech demo), sound, and lighting effects. THAT would be pure awesome.
And that's only Zelda! I can't wait to see the next 'proper' 3D Mario, and the next insta...
True. I just want to see him deliver something substantial now, rather than hearing about what he WANTS to achieve.
Wish I had enough free time to spend a whole day playing games.
Mass Effect 3 for me. Regardless of the upset caused by the ending, it's the final part in a story I've been immersed in since 2007. Awesome series, as good as sci-fi gets when it comes to gaming.
I always forget just how good MGS is until I start playing it again. Just finished 2, working my way through 3 at the moment and then I'll replay 4 once I'm done. Awesome series.
Whatever criticism MGS has received in the past, you have to admit it's something special that doesn't come along very often.
Am I the only one with a huge backlog of games I'm yet to finish? It's a hard life being a gamer.
Bioshock 2, easily.
No disrespect to Peter and his ideas in the past but if Lionhead decide to make Fable 4 more of a gimmick-free game it could potentially be brilliant. Go back to the Fable 1 roots, get rid of the idea of being king and focus on gorgeous locations and towns.
Also, an in depth combat system that uses at least 3 buttons please. The Witcher 2 has raised the bar this gen, I'd like to see Lionhead at least challenge it.
The twist in Bioshock. First time you get out of the sewers in Oblivion and realise how much freedom you have. Getting your first chainsaw kill in Gears, then again when you manage to do it online. The set pieces from Uncharted 2, as well as the entire snow cave level. The Chernobyl level in MW. Killing a dragon in Skyrim. Far, far too many great moments to choose from this gen.
The actual service of live is better hands down. In terms of how well everything is connected, how well designed it is, and how well it does the easy things. Reading a message from a friend is only button press away, it's very easy to chat to your friends and join their games and stuff. But these are the BASICS that live nailed years ago.
However, in terms of value for money, PS+ absolutely DESTROYS live. I joined just for the free games, and I do most of my gaming (onlin...
Alpha-152 from Dead or Alive 4. Cheap, cheating, controller-murdering bitch!!!!!
Yeah hopefully. It can't be anything serious or everyone would be down.
Mine's still working fine..? Got people on my friends list online too.
Not sure if this will actually happen, but if it does, it would have an absolutely huge impact on next gen.
