I too agree, launch lineup is great. But to consider to buy a new console, also "how many ps5 launch games I cant play on ps4?" argument. Here lot of games will be playable also on PS4. So in this regard these games arent launch games. These are multiplatform multigen games, which probably runs better on PS5.
Nonsense. They have good gpu. Next gen is 2x-3x more powerful in terms of gpu. This is not so much if you want go from 4k30 to 4k60 and make it also look much better. But main leap is cpu. Jaguar was shitty cpu even when Last gen launched. It was even weaker then ps3 cpu. But it was easier manageable due to x86 arch.
So yes if you dont want to pay grand for console, you dont get next gen leap in gpu power (from pro and xox - from base ones it is leap at least from fullhd to...
for now, classical external disc for ps4 games. for later nvme ssd. year from now - prices will be better. theres only few models now, which may get sony certification.
I understand, that the game can use different save object format. But, isnt that also developers pride to be able to transform saves? Or export some sort of save state from one to another device? Is problem on Sony side or they simply dont push developers to make save compatible releases?

Thats exactly a boost mode :-D. But of course Sony can "unlock" only some of the boosts. Im mainly pc player, so we all know on pc its simple. You can higher resolution, make details higher, set max fps higher or totally unlock fps cap, turn on several AA techniques, etc.... So turning it on on PS5 also shouldnt be a problem yes? No.
On PS games arent so easily configurable. Its tax for using more low level api then directx. Which in other hands opens up possibili...
I generaly agree. Gamepass will bring option for masses. Im mainly ps fan, but if I wanted to buy cheap and good console with a game for family, I would buy XSS and gamepass.
If Sony has this type of subscription, Im on it day one. But I understand, its hard to be profitable. MS is doing it well to join PC and Xbox - they would never be able to make it profitable only on xbox. They arent still now. But I believe acquiring ZeniMax is one step to future profitability.
It was expected. Last gen consoles were very slow in terms of HDD speed. I owned xbox one X and it was worse then ps4 pro. It was really bad. I was curious why Sony and ms didnt allow to use ssd speed at least for system - if you insert ssd in place of old HDD.
Its expensive. Compare it to new Samsung drive which cost the same. Its expensive. And priprietary solutions always will.
Im saying it after Phil said, mss competition isnt ps but Gaming cloud services. And if you look at whole MS... Its one service next to the other. They dont need xbox hw. They need only xbox Brand and push it everywhere.
It seems MS will abandon xbox hardware and will concentrate on xbox service only. It does make sense. Maybe they will only Brand some oem PCs in the future. It doesnt make any sense for them to design new box.

From spiderman ps4 player point of view it can be strange decision, but on the other way this is probably meant for new PS player, who will buy PS5 - they can buy whole new PS5 spiderman game.
Sony probably thought, people who played Spiderman PS4 dont want to play it again on PS5.
If they allowed free upgrade, nobody will pay full price for new spiderman PS5 and instead buys old PS4 version and gets upgrade.

TOP 100 PS4 games will be "upgraded" for PS5. PS4 spiderman will run on PS5, maybe it will have higher frame rate (its in TOP 100). But Spiderman PS5 is remaster and I understand, it will cost something.
I understand it like Spiderman ultimate is for new PS players or for people, which didnt play spiderman on ps4.
But on the other hand, it would be nice, if Sony made some discount for current spiderman ps4 owners (like me).
Basically its digital version of the game activated by disc. Especially now with fast SSDs I dont see reason to make physical discs with data other than playing offline.
Yeah, they can make Xbox Series XS (X without disc) and Seris SX (S with disc). That would be great! Little sarcasm. But I think X digital version is good idea primarily to lower price point.
