And now the court of public opinion shall make their judgement.....
Phil Spencer & co are a bunch of shysters.
Now lets have a quick reality check.
For such a BIG game as Starfield - which potentially could make or break Xbox as a brand, it needed to be a hit.
As with any huge multi-billion company, MS employ huge marketing teams and strategists to ensure that this release is handled as carefully as possible to give it as good a launch as possible.
Now I don't know if MS/Bethesda withheld review codes from certain review websites that it dee...
They didn't have an AMD graphics card?
3 stars!!!
Good enough for Gamepass.
It's not an glitch...it's a feature!
It's not an exploit...it's a feature!
"What complicates Starfield’s evaluation is its status as Microsoft’s most important first party release in a generation, with many Xbox and Bethesda fans having convinced themselves of its excellence long before they had a chance to play it for themselves."
Ain't that the truth!
So I don't understand, if this is possible, why didn't Bethesda do it? Rather then leaving it to the modding scene to actively improve the game.
Shouldn't call it the modding scene, should be called the improving or fixing scene.
Wow, that's like some sort of insane FOMO.
"I WILL enjoy this game, I must keep playing until I've convinced myself I love it!!'
20 hours later...
"Well I guess I think it's sort of OK, at least I think I'm starting to like it now..."
Irony being it was originally planned to be a Playstation exclusive before Phil got his cheque book out.
Christopher Nolan would be dry-retching if he read that.
Why is this first comment marked inappropriate? It's a fair point and not baiting?
Someone will be flying around in a Thomas the Tank Engine ship...
Fully expecting a Barbie skin to be incoming!
It's almost like MS & Bethesda don't want Eurogamer's or Digital Foundry's opinion out there affecting day one sales.
Which would imply if they expected good reviews then they would have supplied game codes in plenty of time.
I mean, if it's as amazing as it's being hyped up to be, why not supply an early code to one of the more prominent Xbox flag waving review sites?
I wonder what else is on 'the list'...?
130 hours...
And that's just the tutorial!!!
TL:DR
Usual bollocks.
Xbox Series S/X world wide release date - 10th November 2020.
Starfield release date - 6th September 2023.
'Starting gun' fired almost THREE YEARS after the console release.
And these MS guys have the nerve to announce this as a good thing.
Set damage control measures to maximum!!
"We will share the real plans when we are ready.”
Which will be these plans by the way, they are just late.
