Well the thing is that, EB games and Gamestop both offer their own warranty on top of the microsoft one if you decide to purchase at the same time you purchase the console.
At gamestop i believe it's around $40-50 for a year if anything happens to your xbox whether it's a RROD, dvd drive problem, or pretty much anything besides obvious abuse. The warranty actually isn't so bad because if you happen to get the RROD you can simply take your hard drive out, pack the 360 up and bring...
Well the article is talking more so about the profits and purchases made in PSN more so then the amount of users online. Sony is actually surprised at how many people purchase things and if your in the US and have a japanese account you can't actually purchase anything in the store unless you have a japanese ps card or have a japanese credit card.
So yea it is pretty impressive overall.
Mostly @srun4,
You have to look at it this way. Consumers need choices to help them make choices if that makes any sense. By having the 40gb sku at the low price of 400 dollars, Sony can instantly say the ps3 is only $400 dollars on all it's billboards and magazine ads. Now when someone goes to actually buy this 40gb ps3 they see that the cheaper version has far less features then the "superior", but slightly more expensive version.
The customer then r...
Was state most of the stupid posts to follow by posting them first. We all knew in some shape or form someone would mention HD DVD, other games leaving the ps3 in the past and just junk we've all heard countless times in the past.
Anyway I admit i'm a little sad this game isn't coming to the ps3 because when i originally read the article about it in Game Informer, the idea of having different objectives throughout the entire game and slowly moving your frontline forward sounded...
Not to be the rain on your "facts only" rant, but this link was posted up summer of last year and even if the number posted isn't exactly 33%, the article stating that ALL 360's had some sort of issue is kind of disconcerting if you ask me.
Anyway check the link out.

If you think hard, i mean real hard, Sakaguchi isn't soley responsible for the entire final fantasy series. It was a combination of ideas from many people within his team and at square. Alot like how Inafune stated that clover leaving capcom wouldn't be a huge blow to the company because the same people who worked on Okami and some of the other clover studios projects were still around.
Also similar to David Jaffe not working on the second god of war, but it still being amazin...
the ps3 could outsell the 360 this year alone in overall hardware sales, but possibly in 2009.
I mean this year the ps3 has killzone 2, resistance 2, granturismo prologue, metal gear solid 4, little big planet and much more, while next year holds Final Fantasy 13 and gran turismo 5. Also sales could drastically increase if Blu Ray indeed becomes the single movie format for the next couple of years.
The 360 has less announced exclusives this year with none of the...
I hate to say it, but when they include Japan the ps3 will most likely see a significant jump in sales. I just checked last week and the ps3 sold about 74k and the 360 sold about 12k.
Anyway this is kinda pathetic anyway. Vgchartz is usually incorrect and whether or not your pro ps3 or 360, you shouldn't fully depend on this particular site as solid proof of a point.
Also the n4g article says itself. VGchartz "estimate" (keyword here) for week ending bl...
But at this point i'm really pulling for Tomba or Brave Fencer Musashi for my platforming needs.
I'm sorry man i gotta disagree with you. I thought that the main draw for Resistance was the guns and the way they played into the amazing level design.
Saying that unique properties is based on charge shots? Status effects? One of the best ways to take a soldier down online is to use a status inflicting gun the dragon to make them catch on fire then shoot them down with anything else to kill them. Also you COULD charge the dragon to blast off a huge putty of napalm to instantl...
Is that analysts say the ps3 has an install base that is "too small" for developers tastes, but they don't mention or quote anyone.
Sure the ps3 has the smallest install base out right now, but what's small? Is over 3 million small? Sure it may not be up to the same level as the other consoles out right now, but to think that developers would actually say i'm not making a game for that console because the install base is only about 3 million large is ridiculous.
Get hang em high in there!
Firstknight you definitely made some solid points to defend the 360, but as much as I still love lost planet, dead rising, some quick gears online action and cod4, i can't help but agree with El_Col and the rest of the community that 2008 is looking to be a bigger year for the ps3.
The reason why is because (like el_col said), Sony has always had one of the biggest umbrellas of 1st party devs out on the market. Each studio also does a great job of complimenting one another by ...
Did you read the guy's letter? It was well written and hard to disagree with. Don't tell me you've never had problems with live cause it would be a blatant lie.
He pays for the service, argued for the service, and now his service gets jacked up for damn near a month and they give him close to nothing in return. He also raised a good point when he said would you be satisfied with your cell phone service if it kept dropping calls, never had service, or just plain didn't work for ...
When did we all start listening to 1up again?
SCEA boss Tretton (not sure how much trust we have in him) has stated that multiple studios are now using the ps3 as it's lead development platform.
Let's name a few:
- Criterion whose game is published by EA and now has influenced more studios within EA to do the same.
-Midway stated that from now on they'll develop for the ps3 first then the 360 after the horror, which was stranglehold and area 51
- Free Radical who are working on supposedly ps3 exclusive...
When is muting other players coming in? I thought that was an update from awhile back, but I haven't seen it.
Educate me!
The OPM snippet read on the image sounds promising as hell. Helicopters, 100 weapons to choose from, customizable skills that all can level up?? Sounds like a great mix of COD4 and metal gear greatness.
Yea i would love to start streaming stage6 stuff on my ps3. That's how i watch most of my boxing matches and I'm hoping that stage6 becomes more popular because of this.
Walking into a virtual store to rent movies, but being able to watch the trailers via streaming without any D/Ling from the ps store.
Also say you rent a movie and bring it back to your place, but not without inviting about 15 other home users over to watch it with you.
I mean if you can do anything like that then i can already see the experience being fun as a place to just talk about games, movies, or just media in general.
Also it seems like getting a...
