Unreal engine 3 is still not on the Wii and yet we see it running on a mobile. Epic Games must really hate the Wii.
I really don't think the number exclusives can determine which but rather the quality of each one. I much rather play console with memorable and top of line exclusives than say a console that chugs out the same old crap games with virtually the same gameplay. That's why I'm getting tired of games with a man holding a gun on the front cover. Because chance are that game will have the same old gameplay I've played in a million FPS I've played before.
120 frames on Crysis? Are you retarded?
x32 AA, o'rly? I'd like to see you back up that claim by providing me a link.
Well said Hoops. I couldn't put it in better words myself.
I'm not trying to say Microsoft had nothing to do with making Alan Wake only for xbox 360, but Remedy is just as responsible by deciding to work exclusively on the 360. If they had a separate team developing the game for PC along side with Remedy then I would think the situation would be different and Microsoft release it for the PC since the company would also be funding the other team.
I'd give Alan Wake a year maybe two years tops before PC port is release. Microsoft will try ...
Microsoft as the publisher funded the development for Alan Wake, but it was Remedy's sole decision to concentrate on the 360 version to make development process faster and easier on them. They left the choice of a PC port to Microsoft, and since the 360 needs all the exclusives it can get, Microsoft declined.
The PS3 not a "full" PC, really? What make a PS3 different from a PC? Like every console, a PS3 has a CPU (Cell processor clocked at 3.2ghz), a GPU (RSX clocked 550 mhz), RAM (256mb ddr3 700mhz and 256mb XDR 3.2ghz), and a HDD(5,400RPM 2.5 notebook HDD capacity vary between SPUs).
The PS3 slim runs cooler because of its smaller 45nm chipset for both the RSX and Cell. The slim consumes 40 percent less power than the launch units and produces less heat. This reduction in ...
Wow, you clearly have no knowledge of hardware =P
The reason why the newer models are less likely to overheat is because of smaller chipset. Smaller die means less power consumption and less heat.
The reason why the older 360 SKUs are prone to hardware failure is because the motherboard is poorly design with crap soldering.
This CPU is design for servers not for the average consumer products, "Rivals include Hewlett-Packard servers based on Intel's Xeon and "Tukwila" Itanium processors and servers from Sun Microsystems."
Sony would probably go the straight-forward route and include a Cell processor with more SPE's and/or PEE cores and shrink the die, so the PS4 can be backwards-compatible with PS3 games if they decide to release the console in the near future.
Also another bottleneck for consoles is the memory. Most Mid to high-end cards have at least 1gb video memory. Both the xbox 360 and PS3 only have 512mb of memory (PS3 memory is split 256mb ddr3 700mhz and 256mb XDR 3.2ghz).
PS3 may have a more potentially powerful CPU, but the RSX pales in comparison to the Xenos. The Xenos uses 48 unified shader pipes lines which can be use as either vertex or pixel shaders and more versatile for the developers. The xbox 360 also has 10mb of embedded edram which allows 4x MSAA without taking a hit to the frames. That's why most mutiplats look better on the xbox 360

My favorite co-op game to play was Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Nothing better than putting a terrorist to sleep only to have my buddy shoot him in the crotch. Good times!
We sold a PSP that doesn't allow our consumers to play their UMDs, priced our digital downloads at full retail price (Case, UMD, and Manual not included), used generation wireless-b adapter, and ripped them off a cool 250 American dollars... DO OVER!
I really these kinds of articles that isn't relevant to the title. More than half of the article talks about Uncharted 2 doesn't leaves us with knowledge other than what we already know. UC2 is an eyeball full of rape OKAY I GET IT, but how does stating the graphical fidelity of UC2 get us closer to the real question we as the reader want to know: Is the 360 port of Bad Company 2 superior to the PS3?
The real question I want really to know is whether or not the developers are usi...
If the xbox 720 is fully backwards compatible with 360, then the hardware will similar and use a IBM CPU. What I really want to know is whether or not 720 will be using two GPU's similar to Crossfirex/SLI, and if so, then how will they cooled? Will the future console use water-cooling and smaller chipset. Will switch from ATI to Nvidia and if possibly use the Fermi-based GPU.
It's a shame that the motion capture is probably done by a dude.
"the ps3 does not need the gpu...". Oh god I LOL'ed so hard on that one. The GPU is responsible for putting an image on your screen. You'll be better off playing with brick connected to your TV with yarn.
Except for the AMD/ATI and Nvidia fanboys, but they're MUCH more educated and critical than the PS3/360 fanboys.
