This article says a lower resolution gives developers the opportunity to add post-processing effects and sharper textures but this isn't the case with RDR. The game sacrifices resolution for lower performance. The PS3 version of RDR has blurry textures and unstable framerate that dips to 20 at times all while in 640p.

I'm almost certain Gigantic headsets with wires hanging with wires running off the back my head will replace my sexy monitor. Watching movies and simple tasks like surfing the web would be pain. I would see more success if it was advertised as a gaming accessory like a mouse rather than competing with the classic monitor.
You can thank Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption for Alan Wake's lack of sales. Both games were released at the same day and RDR was already getting positive praise for being the best western game while Alan Wake was getting sketchy reviews for lack of mutiplayer. Paying $60 for just a story campaign wasn't gonna it and choosing which one to get was a no brainer to the gamer.

I guarantee you will absolutely not regret it. You don't even have to be expensive PC to enjoy all the game it has to offer. Steam has the largest selection of games and diverse community to boot. Steam also has the best combo deals that is unmatched. I currently have 48 video games and it cost me $300 dollars.

PC gamers like me play close from the screen and I consider them to be real gamers as oppose these console "gamers". Console gamers have unusually high standards. And when a developer make the slightest mistake consoles gamers will whine and complain on their little website and act tough(see N4G). When there is a problem that plagues a game PC gamers have the freedom to mod the game and fix it then release the fix free of charge.
The author makes a good point about game reviews You can never them until you play the actual game itself. GTA IV received numerous perfect scores from many well known websites, but it was NEVER as fun and didn't have that quality to details as the previous games like San Andreas. Missions were repetitive and graphics were terrible for current gen yet it got positive praises from many sources.
Consoles, let alone handhelds, just don't have the specs to run 3D games. Sure the PS3 does support 3D and you could argue back saying you saw wipe running on 3D, but sacrifices had to made. The resolution had to be cut in half from 1080p to 720p and the frames went from 60 to 30. I imagine arcade games being able to run 3D but never games like killzone 2 or UC2.

Yeah its a sad sight to see these fanboys arguing about the graphical quality and resolution when games struggle at 30 frames at 720p. If you guys want the best then buy a PC. I miss those days back when gameplay reign superior over graphics.
Exactly, cracks can be made for game in less than a month and pirates can easily download the game play in snap. DRMs at this point are designed to punish the paying customers.
IMO, I'd say keep the the classic button layout but change the feel of the controller and also make the trigger buttons much less "plasticey".
LOL take a look at the steam community and you'll see that more than just "geeks" on the PC. Talked and play with a whole lot more chicks on steam than Xbox Live or PSN, so stop trying to paste a deluded image of what the PC community and get a clue.
