The problem with looking back like this is that you all, mich like people in every form of media, forget all the terrible cash-ins. NinjabreadMan, Carnival Games and all those movie tie ins will probably be forgotten in five years and only the likes of Metal Gear, Gears & God of War and LBP will be remembered. Or they could be eclipsed in the next year or so, if so great.

A side effect of the huge amount of advertising is that reviews become pointless. People will go and see a film because it has lots of ads and not because reviewers say it's any good. It's already happening but do you want to see reviews become even less relevant to games? Shouldn't people who know about these things and are able to write about the problems inherent with an experience do so? I feel there is a way of equating the entertainment mediums which has been missed here. I own a number of films on DVD but I never seem to watch them. Strangely though whenever they are on TV I will sit there as they pause it every 13 mins to sell me soap and ipods.
