I can remember when the X360 was released and there were mass shortages, although not on the scale of Sony's, and all the Sony fanboys were slating Microsoft and shouting "Sony would never do that to there customers"!!

I just find it amazing that Fox piles millions and millions of dollars into crap movies like Aliens Vs Predator, X-Men 3, Fantastic Four etc but won't invest in a movie that is a sure fire hit.
Peter Jackson was a nobody when he directed Lord of the Rings, and look what happened there. I'm sure Peter has made the right chose in chosing Neil, and with a great script and WETA this will be a cracker!

If Sony had just came out and told the truth that USA and Japan would be getting the first consoles, with Europe six months later, when they announced the release dates, it wouldn't of been too bad, especially since Europe are use to getting consoles later (PSP told over a year!!)

MS has been offering Online Content for it's games for years on Live!, and I see no decline in people trading there games in.
Sooner or later, the game gets stale no matter what new content becomes available.
Only a few gems deserve to stay in a collection, the rest will get traded no matter how many extras are available to download for it.
Just remember that the X360 is built around it's Online Live! service. It's going to take some time for Sony and Nintendo to topple that, if ever they do.

The reason why X-Box Live! works so well is because all your online experience is in one whole package. Your friends list is available for every game you play. It's regularly updated, and all game makers have to build there online experience to the Live! specifics.
What will happen if Sony goes down the route of the developer runs it's own servers, is a massive mess.

Sony are hoping to get a jump on Microsoft with there online service!! But how exactly?
Microsoft has millions of online players. Sony will only have 500,000 units ready for launch, with another 500,000 at the beginning of 2007. That's 1 million consoles. Now even if 50% of those customers play online, that's on 500,000 players against the millions of Microsoft.

Although the Wii basicly has the power of a Xbox, it still has next gen qualities like the whole gyroscoping controller that I class as next-gen.
If Sony and Microsoft planned as far ahead as Nintendo, they'd have no problem meeting a huge amount of demand.
Just look at Sony now. Less than two months away from Launch in the US and Japan, and they've not even started mass producing them yet. That's called bad planning.
This is exactly the way to get ready for a console launch. If Nintendo are aiming for a late October/Early Novemeber release date, that leaves them plenty of time to make even more consoles ready for launch.
If only Sony took the inititive to do there research and make sure they could provide the number of consoles promised at E3 instead of just crapping all over there fans.

Devil May Cry 4 needs to move a step beyond what has been offered from the previous 3 titles. Adding another character is not going to add much to the gameplay.
Just as the MGS series evolves, it always adds another aspect for the players to enjoy, whereas DMC hasn't.
The same can be said about may games, but DMC is a major game for the success of the PS3, and therefore needs something new, just like what happened for Resi 4.
I think that Bungie have to keep with the FPS theme for one of there games, even if it's not based on Halo, because that is what Bungie is best known for and what will make them the cash in the future once Halo has been tucked up into bed.

I'm personally not buying into any HD-DVD or Blu-Ray format yet, not for at least a year. This is to find out which is more successful, and also which format is getting more titles.
I've spent A LOT of money on my DVD collection that is not even 6 years old yet, and I'm not prepared to swap it over yet and start again on another format.
I have a Panasonic 42" 600 series Plasma with a Sony HDMI DVD player, and I'm perfectly happy with the quality of the DVD visuals ...

The expected life of a Console is 4-5 years. There will be people out there who buy a PS3 for the Blu-Ray feature, but can't afford the top package.
Yet after 2 years, they may not be able to play some Blu-Ray movies because they can't play them due to no HDMI port!?? How much does it actually cost to put one of those in?? I bet it doesn't cost $100 to do so.

With the recent success of Dead Rising on the X360, and the number it's sold, it's very possible that DMC4 may come out on the X360, and that'd be good.
It's been hinted at by the makers in the famitsu magazine, and it's never been offically annouced as 'Exclusive' at any Sony conference.
BUT..somehow I can't see it appearing on the X360. They need to keep something back for Sony incase the PS3 does do extremly well. They want to keep one foot in the bed!
This is stupid! What are Sony playing at!? They are offering Blu-Ray and pushing the HDMI port, yet you have to go out and spend another £30-£45 for a cable to use those functions!??
It's also not the price, I recently bought a DVD player with HDMI support with the cabel already included in the box for less than £90, so price is not an issue, especially when Sony is involved and make them themselves in some dodgy sweatshop.
DMC4 isn't confirmed for the X360, but the maker of the game did HINT in a famitsu mag that it may come to the X360, so you'll have to wait for that one.
As for the other games that are coming to the PS3, then can easily be matched to games coming out on the X360:
Gran Tursimo = Fonza 2
Resistance = Any FPS coming to X360
Killzone = Halo 3
Other than MGS4, FFXI and Warhawk, all games are covered on the X360.

Remember that people said that Oblivion would be released on 3 DVD's due to it's immense size, but released on 1 DVD, so this may be a load of rubbish.
Even if it's on 3 discs, there's plenty of previous games like FF7, MGS1, Chrono Cross etc that have appeared over a number of discs.
As long as you only have to switch the disc over once, it won't be a major problem, and like someone has mentioned, if it saves me $10/£10 having it on 3 discs compared to 1 H...
