Like mentioned above, if this also gets a PC-compatible release, there will be much more in the wild and probably sell more than any of the other headsets with better brand recognition. With Jim at the reins I see this being a big possibility.
Agreed on the price too. This thing has to get down to $200 (controllers and headset) to be mass market capable. Hope Jim's smart about that too
Sony fan here and I hope they release this on PC. It'll get more headsets out into the wild and if Jim's not jerking our chains about more exclusives than ever, then the people who buy it for PC will eventually buy a PS5 for the VR exclusives. Just like the beginning of every console's life, it's a "chicken or egg" problem. Best to solve it as early as possible!
The problem with what's going on is the rate of shared information. Information is light speed these days and Sony isn't keeping up. I'm sure they have a million things running in the background right now, but the problem is no consumer knows anything about them. I'm not one of those people who cries when information isn't shared daily, but it is kind of the way of the world now, and if people don't get updates on the daily they start to panic and hyperventilate. It's because they secretly know that Kefka is a crappy one-dimensional villain and needs to justify it by bashing the much more popular game that came after it that revolutionized the RPG genre. With that said, FFVI overall is a great game. Great and fun protagonists!
I've played thru the first five bosses and yes this game is not Crash at all. Other than his goofy smirks, it's nothing more than the typical MTX filled F2P garbage on smartphones. Auto run side to side, throw some crap at a bad guy at the end, and on to the next. But wait! You need these special vials and bombs to battle the next minion! Don't wanna wait the next 10 minutes to finally activate them? Why not by them on special for only $1.99!! Wow what a bargain!... No thanks. Del...
I think it's going to be similar to the PS2-PS3 jump. Big jump in resolution, textures, lighting, and physics. It's pretty exciting!
Just finished Demon's Souls myself and want to get back into Bloodborne but 30fps has all of a sudden become difficult to stomach, literally...

I just wish trophies had some universal meaning in the real world. Discounts, credit towards avatars/themes, things like that. Even the original idea of a trophy room in PS Home was great. Just give us some reason to really care about getting them other than a trophy level.
The CPUs are so bad even in those beefed up last-gen consoles that they probably can't even compute 60fps without humongous sacrifices to graphics and resolution. I'm so glad they went with great CPUs this time around!
If they had focused on single player combat and story, I bet this would've been a classic like the Mass Effect games. All of the pieces were there, it was just really watered down from the GaaS crap. Their wallets got in the way and it ultimately sank into the abyss.
The story of Anthem had so much promise. The trailers all looked great, the atmosphere was there, but it fell flat on its face because they wanted to make an online shlooter gaas piece of garbage. Typical EA. Hope they don't screw up the next Mass Effect.
I may be partial to this game due to it being based in my neck of the woods, but I cannot wait to see how beautiful this game gets on high-end PCs. It was already gorgeous on the PS4 (and even better on the PS5 with its smoothness)! Really good must have game.
I'll put this game in my Wishlist folder on the eShop and when it is 33-40% off I will buy it. I waited for BotW, and Link's Awakening, I can wait for this one as well. And still no Wind Waker?! WTH Nintendo!
