It'll save them more than just cutting out the middle man. They wont have to burn those physical copies any more and last I heard that was around 10.00- of the game price. Physical and digital in most cases are the exact same price so that is even more money they can put in their pockets...
To be honest I'd be all for it if it actually meant cheaper games but it doesnt seem to be having any impact on price at all

Sounds like a really bad design choice. These types of games just do not have the mass appeal that it would need to get enough people playing to beat the game.

Sadly the jump to HD has taken its toll on many studios this generation. I feel bad for the people losing their jobs more than anything but I hope their work will not go unfinished. I also hope they are able to find other jobs quickly. They are obviously all talented people judging by the work they have done.
