The PS3 will be SUPPORTED for 10 years. This means that the Sony will continue to MANUFACTURE AND SERVICE the PS3 for 10 years, and developers will CONTINUE to develop for it for 10 years. This also means that their will be OVERLAP with the PS4.
Example:
PS2 LAUNCHED in 2000 with a 10 YEAR PLAN to be on the market. In 2006, the PS3 was launched. Even though the PS3 launched, Sony continues to MANUFACTURE and SERVICE the PS2...
