Slim announced 299, then they will say for a limited time the current models will sale for 249.99 they did this with the 60GB
True I have to agree, I like this elite at 299, really makes me think about getting one now, however the PS3 slim, with FF and GT releasing, you do realize if they bundle any of those, they will own the holiday worldwide overall

If ineed this is true, it will be time for me to get a PS3, I always said a few things keep me from it, no satin silver (tear), and 299 or below is the only time now or going forward I will buy a system. And if systems launch at 399, well then joy because by the time I get one, it will be 299 bugs worked out and library big enough to take a look at.
Ill eat those words im sure and by the next gen systems on launch day =)

Who cares about the technical reasons for this, its become just to much and its gone to far, unless your a 1st party you dont have the time to sqeeze the PS3 and frankly I dont blame devs for not wanting too, SONY should listen to 70% of the ones who cry, make it more universal. Im waiting for google to get in and make a system and smoke the comp. I agree SONY in 1995 was cool, sleek seen as the COOL system to have, now they are more main stream left their audience and only after they started to realize their mistake have the come back around and gotten on track but i fear its too late to be cool again for now. I do not think MS is better machine however their plan and marketing have proven to be much better

No price drop? I've been on the fence a while if SONY doesn't go 299 by September, I'm buying an xbox. I love their attitude I understand they have bottom lines to meet however, market share and price in this current climate is more important, to both consumers and companies.

It Has to be, and SONY knows this anything more than 299 is going to get killed, not to mention when they announce the slim, with 299 thats 2 birds one stone, creating buzz, press and price all in a hit, they wont pass on that.
The chips have been smaller for quite sometime, look at the back of a new 80 the board sits pretty far in. The only reason the old shell is still being used around it is likely do to surplus supply of cases.

Well it will take them atleast 5 years to penetrate the market, however when they do woo hoo, because that will knock MS in the mouth and although I love windows 7 (beta tester) I think MS and pricing days are over, they really need to re do their pricing, because they are pretty much dominate there is no reason for 5 yrs later a OS still costing the same, some STONG healthy competition is great for us, and I love google chrome!
Grown men don't buy products that break continuously, after the 2nd, move on to something that doesn't. With a car or tv you wouldn't don't let blind loyalty to a company change the way you do things, move on to a PS3 and be done with it.
