A CD stores information in trenches on the surface of the CD. Blu-Ray discs have much smaller and many more trenches making more space. HD-DVD is in between the trench size of Blu-Ray and DVD. The laser must be focused more in order to read the the smaller size trenches meaning its impossible for Blu-Ray to read HD-DVD or DVD and vice versa. The PS3 doesn't read DVDs using the Blu-Ray laser and if it did its the only Blu-Ray laser in existence that does.
just go to howstuf...
Blu-Ray uses a blue laser that is only capable of reading Blu-Ray discs but some Blu-Ray players including the PS3 have another red laser to read dvd. As the article says a HD-DVD red laser(which is different from the red laser used in a dvd player) is required to read 3X DVD in other words the PS3 nor any other Blu-Ray player has the correct red laser in order to read these kinds of discs.
its $600 and were all not rich.
if its not on a blu-ray disc. Blu-Ray isn't a format or resolution.
Gran Turismo isn't realistic lol!
PS3 Oblivion had an entire year more of development and if it didn't look better then the Xbox 360 version they would've had some explaining to do.
Whoever said 'designed on a 360 Dev Kit' is an ar-tard it was designed in development software on a computer one in DirectX and the other in OpenGL. Has anyone even considered that the main problem in the PS3s rendering might be OpenGL?
What with this 'water-downed PC' talk?
If you think the Xbox 360 i...

I hope it looks and runs better its only been in 1 year more of development.
is Efficiency vs. Raw Power. Xbox 360's CPU which is more efficient and puts more power down by not having more but being able to utilize all of it. While the PS3 is Raw Power where it has great power but isn't efficient enough to use all of it.
Dude most PS3 devs received their PS3 dev kits(not final kits) the same time the Xbox 360 dev kits went out. Every Multi-Platform game has had atleast 1-3 maybe even 6 months more in development then the Xbox 360 version. This would include:
Oblivion, COD3, Madden and FNR3.
You do know the Xbox 360 uses a proto ATI RS600 GPU chip that you can't even buy yet. Most cross platform games should look better because they have had more time to work on the games. How does HDR lighting look worst then non-HDR lighting? If their are problems with the lighting its not the technology its a mistake by the devs. Whats next?, I FOUND A GLITCH IN TDU itz becuz of Xbot 360 has inferer technolgy.
I've been following these two consoles long enough to know the di...
just for another company to build a chip from scratch and blow it out of the water.
but its not a practical way of playing on the Xbox 360.
but its starting to look very nice now!
I would say it would come to the Xbox 360 because EA doesn't skip the chance of making a profit and making this game multi-platform would make them a hell of a profit.
This reminds me of counterstrike adjustable gravity that was fun as hell :)
Can't wait to check this game out!
sets when a game comes out, how much that game will cost, what systems it will come on and how many copies will be made and what region it will be released in. Mercenaries 2 will most likely stay a PS3 exclusive but the point is if EA wanted they could tell the development team to remake the game for the Xbox 360.
in whether or not its an exclusive anymore but EA does now that they are the publishers.
The only problem is that this setup only works at wifi hotspots. Nevertheless you can always still play Xbox 360 offline or over lan in the car and have fun.
