The claim of 60 FPS has gotten out of hand recently. Technically speaking any game can claim to run at 60 FPS at some point throughout the game. It doesn't mean it is a consistent 60 frames throughout. Demos aren't always optimized, since optimization is often one of the last processes.
Trust me, these guys know what they are doing.

People just don't realize the work that goes into a video game, especially one that is based on it's own engine.

I've been playing the Quake Wars demo to death at work, and even though I was hyped up about it for such a long time, Warhawk ruined it for me. Warhawk makes almost all other multi-player shooters look bad. It's such a great game.

The PS2 is not rapidly dying, in fact it has sold the most consoles than any other console in history, and continues to put up some respectable numbers despite the age of the console. The xbox on the other hand has been dead for years, and wasn't the first to market.
