"wellas for the jurisdictional claims regarding our IP addresses. it was about a corporation asserting itself over regular law to make a statement to anyone else that might want to screw them with."
No it wasn't. The one and only reason those subpoenas were ordered was to confirm that Geohot could be tried in California, thats it. It was the media that blew it way out of proportion and actually gave false info on what the aquisitio...
At first I thought you said 'I'm.. s o l i d', and I thought to myself "well thats a good reason to vote for her".
The new Twisted Metal is rated Teen, so don't get your hopes up. They said that they wanted to reach a broader audience.
@CommonSense (how ironic)
Do you even know why Sony got those IP addresses??
It was for jurisdictional discovery only, and is completely useless in the case itself. The reason a Federal Judge ruled that Sony could do this was to make sure Geohot could be tried in the state of California. Thats it, it was in no way, shape, or form a violation of anyone's privacy.
Relevant case law allows Sony to subpoena records to determine jurisdiction....
Private property + Sit-in = Loitering
The 'boycott' won't last long once the cops show up.
I'm eating your bubbles... *nom nom nom*
How do you boycott a boycott?? You should rally up a bunch of thugs and get them to patrol the Sony stores wearing 'I Kill Hackers' t-shirts, and see how long Anon sticks around.
If they start harassing customers the shop owners can have them arrested. So no biggie
In-store boycott?? Wow *points to pic above*
There is one flaw with your video. Books are not video games. Someone may read a part of a book on their computer and then decide 'hey I want to buy that book'. Whereas a video game is already digital media, once you pirate it you then have that game. Theres no reason to go out and buy the game because you already have it.
But with books its not a digital media, sure it is on the internet, but some people like having the actual book itself. So they don't have to ...
Thats always what I thought, what benefit does hacking a PS3 have that you can't do on a PC. Emulators, Homebrew, etc, can all be done on the PC, so what exactly is the point of doing it on the PS3??
I think its just the excuse they use so they can pirate. If I'm not seeing something can someone please explain the motive behind hacking a PS3 over a PC??
Looks like either the cops or the event planner is trying for a quick cash grab. My bets on the event planner.
"there are so many names to choose from why use the same name as another in a major video game release?"
Because it fits the character. So you're saying every name involved in a major game release should be off limits?? Even if it is just a common first name?? So John, Nathan (oh wait theres Nathan Hale & Nathan Drake), Ethan, Scott, Alan, Marcus, etc., are all unusable, even if it fits the character perfectly??
Give me a break
Agreed... Cole Phelps is a perfect name for the lead. I don't care that it wasn't on the top 10 list of most popular names in the 40's. It still fits the character like a glove. At this point in time it would be weird to call him anything but.
The author is diving way too far into a simple name. Yes choosing the right name is important, but its shouldn't be as time consuming as the author suggests. If a name fits the character then you're done. Simple as t...
One of the most entertaining articles I've read in months. Absolutely hilarious!!
Cole is a conduit, not just an 'electric man', which means he can harness any kind of power. Just look at Kessler (who was the same as Cole), he could teleport, cause earthquakes, summon enemies, and travel through time, among other things. They already explained in the first game that Cole can manipulate more than just electricity.
I just can't get over how insane people can be. You truly can't trust anyone because at any moment that switch will trigger something in them that you didn't know they were actually capable of.
This kind of stuff turns my stomach
Wouldn't be surprising. Just look at how terrible Kessler looked at the end of the last one.
@Warprincess116
I'm not defending MS, I just actually read the article, and it appears you didn't. Supposedly the NYPD fined the event planner because they were unaware that Ne-Yo was gonna be performing at the Kinect launch party. Which in itself sounds like total bs.
So the event planner wants MS to reimburse them for paying this fine. MS asked to see the receipt of payment and the event planner refused. Which pretty much confirms there was no fine....
