I'm not saying this is the case, but its definitely possible. There are tons of reasons why it could happen, and sometimes the market is very unpredictable. Maybe people were waiting for the hype to die down before they decided to purchase. Or the guys that bought Alan Wake traded that in for RDR. Or just a ton of people spontaneously said "I'm gonna go buy that". There are a ton of possibilities as to why, but like you said the numbers are what will matter. I'm interest...
Just leave it with Nintendo, its their baby. Plus a Mario game does not, I reapeat does not need HD to be enjoyed. My favorite game for Wii was Super Mario Bros. and it looked great. Gameplay over-rules graphics anyday. I will say I never got to enjoy SMG2 because I sold my Wii weeks ago (I never touched it). But I'm sure it plays just fine on the Wii. The guy who wrote the article is just a trolling Xbot, and this is hardly considered 'news'

To the post above, Respawn is not working on Medal Of Honor. EA Los Angeles & Dice are working on that title.
I don't really care if this goes multi-platform or not. I'll be buying it today anyway. The only time I object to multi-platfom is if the quality of the game would suffer. In this case it wouldn't so who cares. It would be a smart decision for the developers to do so, unless Sony is offering some good incentives. Which in this case I highly doubt, but these 4 guys are very talented, so its definitely possible.
Its not b.s. its the truth. Because of space limitations on the 360 they had to remove some of the features of the game. Thus making the PS3 version less than what it should've been. Also the couple of months it took to make the 360 port could've been time spent refining the PS3 version even further. So yes it did lower the quality of the PS3 versiion. Its just common sense.

My biggest problem (if versus goes multi platform) would be the flat out lying. Square has said on numerous occasions that regardless of the sales from FFXIII, Versus would stay a PS3 exclusive. So it would be a complete f*ck you to Sony.
Another problem is they would have to for one, dumb down the game so it works on the 360, and they'd waste time porting to 360 when they could spend more time polishing the PS3 version. Going multi-platform would only take away quality ...
