Sega haven't ruled out the possibility to make a new console at some point, they said themselves that they would like to.
It's possible maybe they are not making certain titles so they can have them as exclusives. Maybe wishful thinking but you never know, they have been pretty strict and making people stop creating fan made stuff like that Streets of Rage HD remake, along with some others.

The game seems good from footage i've seen but i'm really not certain i'd like it, just does not seem the type of game i'd play for a long time. I have a feeling i would get bored of it in a short time due to all the stuff constantly happening on screen, i could be wrong.
Maybe i'll download the demo at some point and try it.

Hit and Run was a great game imo, a sequel would look so good on current gen.. even on Wii U it'd look much better than the original. Just needs a ton more stuff in it, much more missions and stuff to do on the side.
Really don't get why they haven't made a sequel to that yet, it really was a good and fun game.
It doesn't need constant upgrades if you buy the right stuff at the start, and the difference is far more than 5%.
UE4 Elemental demo drops to as low as 22fps on PS4 whereas current GPU's like the GTX 970 only drops as low as 39fps in intense parts and with a 3 year old Intel CPU, and that's with the PS4 version at a lesser graphical quality on top of that. Quality could even be dropped on PC to PS4 level and i bet it wouldn't even dip below 60fps that often. ...
I think it's pretty much proven that you need an updated GPU every 2-3 years to get the best out of games performance wise. The fact that new gen consoles get games coming at 30fps only 1-2 years or less after release reinforces that thought.
It's technology, stuff improves and unfortunately it's not a cheap thing to buy into. Plus it doesn't help not all developers spend a lot of time on a game to get it to run great. This is why pure brute force of the hardw...

970 is a lot of card for the money, i recently got one but haven't been able to use it yet.
From what i've seen though the 970 rips games apart @ 1080p, even the UE4 elemental demo dips to 39fps at the worst even with an older cpu.
been meaning to upgrade my x58 board and cpu but still haven't found much reason to even with newer games.. May wait and see what Skylake is like for new cpu/board/ram.
And that's with a fairly mid range mobile GPU, if you could shove a card like a GTX 970 in there it would fly, and it doesn't cost a fortune.
Half Life 2 is 10 years old this november, what with Source 2 still in development almost 4 years now, i'd be extremely surprised if nothing is mentioned soon about HL3 or the new engine at least.
I don't know, i struggled to play Doom 3 because i found it scarier than even phsychological horror films which i didn't have much issue with.. I think it might be due to the difference of being in control with a game.. Saying that, it was 10 years ago that i tried playing through Doom 3 when it came out.
This is partly the reason why i game on PC.
I've been saying even if the next consoles when they come, PS5 or whatever.. won't even do 4k efficiently.
Can you imagine a game much more graphically demanding than the best looking ones today that are usually locked @ 30fps, but at 4k and 60fps? There's barely a difference between high and ultra settings in practically all games anyway, what difference does it make.. same with doom 3 back in 2004, you just take a large fps hit for hardly any difference in quality.
In any case i just bought a GTX 970, great card and clocker, beats 780 ti and on par with 980 when OCed.. but if it's still not enough to run future gen engines at 60fps+ and 1080p i will upgrade it in 6 months or so.
Good news as i just upgraded my ancient 5870 to a MSI 970 but yet to try it, nice card for the price for once and seems to dominate everything @ 1080p with high fps.
If something much better comes out in 6+ months i'll sell it and upgrade, if not i'll keep it for UE4 games and Doom 4 etc..
Exactly, it's just an official price drop. Doesn't stop retailers having lower prices through sales, as they set the price to what ever they want.
