Yea wait for others to benchmark them first, and if people are after these like the 3080's, you can look forward to sites crashing for hours on day of release, then when you load up the site all stock is gone.
You can act as if Valve can do no wrong all you want, they are no angels, they even screwed over Arkane Studios who were developing a new title based in Ravenholm. Years of work down the drain because Valve pulled the plug for no obvious reason.
So they screw others over, not just themselves.
6900xt is bad value even though it's cheaper than the 3090, 6800xt makes much more sense, not much between them in performance going by specs.
Not sure I'll cancel my 3080 order for one of these, but both looking beastly for 1440p high frame rate gaming. Well done AMD, can't wait for Zen 3 on the 5th also.
Nope, even at 1440p the extra grunt and vram of the 3080 is better. Interested to see the cards AMD show off tomorrow, but i have a gsync screen
Enough of these L4D crossover content DLCs, what's the point of all this when it's obvious Valve doesn't really care much for it. I mean they even passed an update that was made by some community members and managed to screw up the game even more.
They canned a new L4D years ago because they rushed into development on a new engine when Source 2 wasn't even ready, so gave up because it didn't work correctly.
Shame they give out these li...
The fact that Dirt 5 on the new xbox runs in high fps mode dips to 90, and dips from 1440p to 1080p (as per DF testing video) as well as cut back graphics proves that these consoles are already not 4k 60fps machines for most games as many claimed.
A 1440p high hz screen on a gaming PC will give a better experience without dipping in res or game quality to boot.
I'd like to see both, Banjo as a family friendly game and Conker for adults.
They shouldn't screw with the original formula too much though unless it makes sense and is fun.
Well they released a junk update to L4D2 which wasn't even Valve made because it was a community effort, they managed to make the game worse than it was before and it required an update for years.
Just seems like another article to make people think Series X is even more powerful than a top GPU. It's not even as powerful as a now previous gen top GPU.
They had to cut back crowds & graphics in Dirt 5 just to hold 1440p (and below) resolution just to get 120fps. And from what I've seen so far even "4k 60fps" games still dip below that range already and this new console gen hasn't even started yet. But still, decent money for the base hardware....
Eh? There's a lot more to PC than MMO's, you also cannot use a KB & mouse for the majority of console games, it will likely be select titles. Many find keyboard and mouse essential for shooters, RTS, and even third person games.
Indeed, keyboard and mouse support seems to be game/dev dependant as well, like Planet Coaster. If you want total freedom you still go PC TBH.
1440p high refresh is great on my PC, sweet spot is around 90 to 120fps, so much smoother than 60.
I see they already had to make compromises with the new Dirt game on Xbox just to get 120fps with variable resolution, like scaled back graphics and crowds..
If you want power you go PC as usual.
Indeed, i had my first 120hz screen around 2013 (1080p) then a few years ago went 1440p 165hz Gsync. Nice bump in image quality and would definitely not go back to 60hz, that said 60fps gaming is still good, it's just when i play at 90+FPS the difference is pretty noticeable to me especially in shooter type games.
As the FPS goes up though you don't get that much difference, it tapers off quite a lot after 120fps (8ms) compared to 60fps (16ms), like 165hz is 6ms so ...
Alder lake is big/little, eight big and eight small less powerful cores. It's kind of early to tell how good that approach is going to be. It will depend how much better those 8 big cores are.
It's strange how they showed off the 12 core chip, the 8 core *should* have better latency, unless they have done something to further reduce it so it makes little difference even with the higher core counts.
And the 12 core isn't that much more cost over the 8 core, think I'll wait for third party benchmarks and stuff to see what's going on.
I liked the presentation as it was mostly straight to the point and decent amount of info as well.
Only thing they didn't show is the latency between the 8 and 12+ core chips, it's possible the 8 core has lower latency due to the chip layout, but we'll see if it makes any difference when reviews/benchmarks come out comparing them.
It's been a while since i used any DC emulator, but some games ran pretty well for me even back in 2005, i would've thought any decent DC emu would've been perfected a while back
Bigger means you can fit beefy coolers which means lower temps and slower quieter fans, same as PC
I thought there may have been some hack to get Freesync working on Gsync displays, but if it's possible it hasn't happened yet. I have a 1440p 165hz Gsync screen and it makes me think sticking with the 3080 order makes more sense, either that or i would have to change monitors or miss out on both Freesync and Gsync and it just adds more hassle.
Btw Infernus, you should check out the hz to ms calculator here 1908d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment
