people just have short memories, too much ADD and internets. I remember the hype ridden failure of both moH and BF3, and yes BF3 was a disappointment, it dumbed itself down to appeal to a broader dudebro audience but was left with nothing original.
the last game was the exact opposite of what you wanted, so what makes you think they will switch gears now? It's deep inside dudebro gimpware territory now.
Lets see this reach the top of N4G.
All you guys who think that 64 is too much, have you not heard all the gripes about the armored kill maps being too big?
The BF3 maps were gimped down for consoles, the Bf2 maps were much, much bigger. And Bf2 supports 128+ players in its mods, with maps that are even bigger.
It's call of duty with vehicles and lens flare.
Anything with an 'Art department' is not art.
After understanding this, perhaps people will understand why the hype over the next generation is so pointless.
Yeha this, exactly.
You know what to expect with a free game, but with a $60 purchase you don't want to be nickeled and dimed.
Every time I see some mouth breather ranting about BF4 I remember the abhorrent drek of Bf3 Premium and its endless garbage DLC.
I remember the hype for the steaming pile that was BF3.
'The CoD killer'....'Revolution ary'....
Never again.
Another FPS sequel....
Did ya even play BF3? Because most people who did realized pretty fast that they were playing a mediocre CoD clone with half-arsed destruction physics and cartoon vehicles.
And this is coming from a battlefield fan on PC . Can't imagine how awful this game was on consoles with like 24 players.
some serious rose tinted goggles in here.
BF3 was a giant yawn, hyped up and then came crashing to earth as another generic mil-shooter
with smaller maps, no editor, fewer players, canned destruction physics, and ton$ of DLC.
And the Sp was even worse than CoD.
Overuse of zombies in culture...
Zombies are the perfect entertainment for sociopathic, alienated people.
Alone surrounded by hordes of soulless, hostile, dangerous creatures: this is how sociopaths view the everyday world around them.
Hilarious how rumors of cloud support on xbox720 were met with derision and scorn on this site...
"something you cant physically own is not worth buying."
What a thoughtless statement. Do people physically own all those billions of songs on their iphones?
Do the millions of steam users physically own any of their games?
Do people physically own their facebook pages which they slave over endlessly? Or their reddit accounts?
Let's see how much people value physical discs when the digital copies undercut them ...
Yeah this is gonna really save the Wii.
Blu ray won.. I can't remember the last physical disc I purchased...
Physical media is so last century.
Twice burned, once a fool.
Must smell like plastic in there... if they had a fire it would kill all the trees for miles...
The good old days are never coming back for the Japanese game industry. They are basically irrelevant. Without the airtight grip they once held on hardware (up until xbox), the Japanese cannot compete against the PR, marketing savvy, market access, and most importantly, creativity of western developers/publishers.
