Impressive, both the multi-computer speed-up for lighting and the improved browsing will help dramatically. Lighting upgrades are pretty nice as well, however it might take a little bit before we see those upgrades.
Should be really good, was at a presentation with John Romero seems to be in good hands.
Too bad it is just probably being in the crowd. They never registered for a booth, and if MS went they have no where to just "appear" on stage.
And tomorrow we will probably see a story saying "Why Mass Effect 2 will be coming to the PS3".
Not completely surprised, but I would not be surprised either that it is a timed exclusive if they don't announce the PS3 soon. The PS3 is picking up serious momentum.
Its a start
If the conversation is true, i would be much more inclined to believe that it was tech that will be rolled on to the next console instead.
Forgot that Santa Monica has a relatively small team, only 85 main people.
I think most people completely misunderstand home. It is always pretty much packed when I log in to check on it, and also is making a decent profit for Sony now. I would call that a success.
Wow, does anyone remember what happened. PL screwed up, yea but not by lying. They would have shown it, but they announced it before they were allowed to. I'm guessing its still in pre-alpha and coming out next year and that would be why you haven't seen Sony announce it.
I'm pretty sure that xbox 360 will be on the way out then, and even PS3 will start hitting the late stage of the game, that is just ridiculous. Square's management should have a long hard look at some things.
Please, can we put this one to rest. It was from a ex-Nvidia fanboy who switched to being a Intel fan.
Did MS confirm that Gears was limited to being a MS platform exclusive as well, because last I saw it was the guys at Epic that said that not Microsoft themselves.
It's called PACING, its the bare essential to any action of a video game.
This is why they are facing a class action lawsuit in California that will force them to do a recall later this year.
For people that don't realize that programmer's are shifting to a universal set, look at Steam, they are preparing a linux version. Then you have the PS, and Nintendo brands, as well as phones.
I noticed some wrong dates up there, and I wouldn't be surprised if Splinter Cell is a place holder date
Your right about the tech being worked on well before release, but the problem is with articles like these, people might not get worked up but they might treat it as pure fact.
As a upcoming dev, I would be hard pressed to blame the Wii for a crash as much as I dislike it. If anything it would be all three console makers fault. They have let their standards slip to sub-par to ensure higher turn around and hitting precise release dates for higher profit margins
As for the frame rate, you have to remember that it is one of the last thing to be heavily optimized, so it should get pretty close to staying at 60.
