That list is pretty bad. First Bioshock 2 it was freaking revealed on the PS3 version of Bioshock its multiplat. Also Too Human just came out it definately will not get a sequel so quick.
Edit
And finally Turn 10 might be big but they are not fast enough to make both PGR and Forza for the same year
I think the Dark Knight is already showing that. And new releases + lord of the rings will help next year. That is just for movies.
For gaming it will definitely show. Saying most major games will be at least 2 DVD's or more on 360.
The problem is that the xbox division is a much less important division then most for MS, while at Sony the playstation is a core division
@Jenzo you do realize most unannounced items for microsoft are either Xbox 720 things or casual games.
Kigmal you do realize teasing 2 games could mean they are only half way down, only one would come out next year if they are both full games
And how in the world did they get FFXIII on that list? It's not coming out until summer in Japan, so the earliest it will be on the xbox is mid next year
I wonder were they got those numbers. In January there was this article on business week about how the PS3 cost 400$ to build. There have been a couple cost cuts since then.
I can tell you right now, that MS will not acquire SE for 2 reasons. Even if MS was rich enough and cared enough about the video game market right now, they would have to spend a fortune to get the market cap for SE.
Then they also just do not care enough about the hardcore market enough anymore. If you want i can provide links for information.
Any news for the soundtrack?
By not saying it needs saving?
Excellent post, but i do have one question. If they were to launch another console in 2010 what games would they sell to hype the machine? This is the issue for MS that most people shouting out for no third party exclusives don't realize. They have opened a can of worms, and Sony can fight just like MS did this gen.
The problem with them saying that Uncharted 2 won't be much of a graphical leap is there is a lot of place holder and old code still not updated. They are probably still using older animations , and older textures from the first to test out newer things. Second it's still 10-12 months out, thats a lot of polish time. Thirdly Sony will send other guys in once GoW3 and KZ2 is done with their expertise.
What DJ said is partially true. GoW3 does not use the same engine per say but the Santa Monica team did build the destructible environment technology that KZ2 uses
Also take a look at the intro scene, now compare that with the CGI trailer that was first shown, its stunning how technically advanced the engine has become.
Wasn't there a rumor of Rockstar having a file of all the maps together, so logically all the maps in high def would be way to massive for one or even two DVD's.
Remember too that if Californian's win this, there will be copy cat law suits from about every other state and country that cares.
Developers just need to start focusing on making stuff with OpenGL and soon OpenCL, that way it portable across ALL platforms, not just Microsoft products
This is assuming Microsofts first party isn't gearing up for the next xbox
It is probably more like they are just switching sights to a different company unfortunately.
Wow, that is horrible comment. Have you seen Full Sail's program? It is a video game industry standard when it comes to learning to make video games. The final project is shown infront of a panel of the most influential people out there. Nearly everyone who graduates is placed directly in the field with excellent companies.
While it does seem strange to most, you have to look at Microsoft's record of internal studios, they burned through 4-5 in 4-5 years, so that is quite high.
Pretty amazing saying that it is 1080p@60FPS apperently
