It would be weird if you had a voice. Kinda breaks the immersion imo. They don't want to create a fixed personality in your PC because you are the PC.

Uh.. Do you mean your PC or NPC main characters? If NPC there will be voices. If PC then no. PCs don't even have dialogue in cutscenes.
Atlus just published Demon's Souls in NA. They didn't make anything in it. They make great niche games though.

The "old school" JRPGs seem to release mostly on handhelds these days. Which is good in a way since I love handhelds.

Yeah they announced the same type of games that they announced for 3DS when it was doing badly. Mainly 3D Mario and Mario Kart. While they might not be system sellers for me, those games might have a great impact on sales just like 3DS ones had.
Syphon Filter games were pretty fun for PSP. Gotta wonder why Sony hasn't made one for Vita.

I will eventually buy both but Wii U's price doesn't look so pretty right now.

I don't think smartphones are a threat to handhelds. There are hardly any core games out there for smartphones. From my experience, mobile games are mostly for the casuals who enjoy playing Facebook games. They don't really play core games that can be found on handhelds.

Since the game resolves around the cursed character, I hope there is a "prologue" that helps to start the game for newcomers. Then player gets cursed and difficulty gets harder. Kinda like Demon's Souls before vanguard but possibly longer.
I just hope this doesn't equal more delay for the games. Other than that it's all good. Multiplat = more money for them, more money for them = more games for us.

Funny how many oldschool Castlevania fans say that LoS is a game no-one wanted and then it's the best selling CV ever. I think LoS is a great saga and a worthwhile break from 2D medroidvania overdose. I hope Castlevania will get new games in future too.
After playing Xenoblade I will buy a Wii U when this releases.

This direct was ok but I was expecting much more. I got so hyped for Monolith's X but it was over before I knew it. That can be said about the whole direct.

Vita had a very good amount of launch games but for me there hasn't been a must have game for me yet. Once one arrives I will buy a Vita.
