Online prices are kinda sucky though, unless there's a sale on, but in most cases physical has been cheaper for me even with shipping included. Some niche games are impossible to find on disc, I dread the oncoming digital only future.
The only time I don't buy physical is if it doesn't exist, or if in the rare case, the physical is so much more expensive than the digital.
Single player has always been my best experience, it's hard to find friends with the same multiplayer games and it's even harder to get the to stick with it. When I think about it, the SOS system in Monster Hunter World works best for me and sometimes I get the same players helping me out on a semi-regular basis.
It'll have VR but probably as an after thought, it won't be mandatory or the main show for the console.
The Xone reveal caused so many of my friends who were xbox fans to jump ship and it's only gone downhill over the course of the gen.
Apart from the first year or two, what drought? It's been a steady flow of games I can't keep up with.
PUBG creators got lazy and greedy, they're doing the opposite of Fortnite and that's why they're failing, not updating the game often enough, not optimizing enough, they haven't ensured the game's QoL like Fortnite's team has.
Open World games are to this gen what the over saturation of FPS was last gen, it's like flavour of the month for gamers.
To be fair FF can sell on brand name alone, it's far from an indicator of quality, whereas titles like Octopath Traveler are brand new IPs and don't have an established fan base.
After games like FFXV and NT, I'm reluctant to hand over money for a full priced game, and probably won't for FF7RB either despite it being my favorite FF entry. I'll happily fork out for Bravely Default and Octopath though.
True, with action RPGs I can kill opponents much stronger than myself with skill alone although it might bore me because of how long it'll take me to actually kill them. Like when I first booted up Skyrim and spent a shit ton of time killing a troll... The reward was not worth the effort.
I like both but highly prefer ATB, especially for JRPGs, FFXV was okay but the combat was flawed, magic grenades are OP. But FFXV had other major issues that made me dislike it hence why after I was finished dicking about I just hurried up and completed the game so I could shelve it.
WoFF was the best FF game this decade, WoFF was everything the newer games lacked and I hope they make a sequel to it since there were still loose strings left to explore. Story and characters ...
You can only play them so many times though and once you've done everything, the only thing you can do is do all of that again. A new FF in the vein of the older games would be well welcomed, and FF can sell on brand name alone so a turn based FF would still sell like hot cakes. The closest we get these days is Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler. With games like Lost Sphere and I am Setsuna, it seems that some part of Square-Enix wants to go back to it's halcyon days where their gam...
Last year was tough af to choose a winner, so many good games deserve the award, except PUBG, that was a weird nominee.
Correction, dissidia was good, NT sucked bad.
If Sony didn't make so many mistakes last gen, that year/year and a half may not have been that significant of a lead as they ended up with. I hope Sony has learned their lesson and don't do the same with the PS5 and I'm pretty confident they won't screw it up.
I'll hold out for Sony too, they've been good to me with every Sony console I've owned (I wish I could say the same of the Vita...), plus I'm good until 2021 or whenever it releases, I won't be getting it on release. I may true to wait for a PRO version if it's going to exist next gen.
I can't see a release any earlier then 2020, it seems like all the tech and costings available line up that year or the year after.
Keeping the price point in mind, it should be pretty easy to make a reasonable guess on what specs they'll probably use, we know Sony is unlikely to go over the magic figure of $399 like they did with the ps3.
I think MS had a clear vision at the start but got a slap in the face when there was a massive uproar about how anti-consumer they were during the reveal of the xone (hencet the backtracking), I think they're chasing a service model moreso than anything now w...
