Kojima already said he wasn't concered about 1080p graphics that would eat up too much memory. Now I expect there to be plenty of cutscenes, but if he wants more space I'm sure there's more gameplay to go with it. I'm looking forward to this.
I thought it was interesting that Yohsuke Hayashi thinks 720p is the best resolution to use in terms of balancing graphics and performance. I hadn't thought about it like that. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this game.
I was looking forward to it, but I'm willing to wait a bit if it makes the game better. I'm still planning on getting Oblivion, Motostorm, Army of Two (I think its released in March?), and the new Gundam game this March. Yes, Gundam, and yes they suck, but I can't get enough of giant anime mechs.
It's sorta like the Human's version of the Ghost, minus the weapons. But to make up for the lack of armor and weapons I'm guessing it'll be fairly fast and agile. I think its a good vehicle addition.
It is completely different from a technology point of view. I'm not arguing that. But from a strickly dollar sign point of view, the PC gamers are less inclined to get a 360 game when they can get it for the PC. Does MS still make money, yes, but does it come from the 360, no. It is the same as Sony's position. They sell a PS2, they make money, but it doesn't come from a PS3. Both make revenue, just not from their latest and greatest product. Forget the technology point of view, but in busine...
It is a pretty misleading graph because I thought the same thing at first. It's comparing the PSP and PS3 sales to the 360.
1)Comparing the 360 to the PS3 and PSP sales is pointless because the PSP is a handheld and they always sell more than they're bigger consule brothers.
2)The PSP hasn't sold 25 million. They just pulled that out of their a**. The PSP has sold more around 20 million.
3)They should've added a third bar just for the PS3 because it looks like ...
And whether or not they are PC ports I could care less. GOW and Dead Rising are by far the best games it has to offer, and Lost Planet truely looks impressive. However, Kameo and Perfect Dark weren't great; okay, sure, but not great. Viva Pinata was pretty good, and while Dead or Alive is a classic, it hasn't improved much over the years. I'm not forgetting Halo 3, what will be the best game of the year.
We all know Sony has the main installments of Final Fantasy, Metal Gear So...
This is no different from Sony making money of the PS2 while the PS3 sits on shelves. You, and a lot of Heavy Xbox supporters have critized Sony for this. But really, that is no different than MS making money off of PC games instead of 360 games. So you have conflicting views, in Microsoft's favor. I'm not surprised.
I don't think these are simply ports either like the website says, but they're not truly exclusives either. I think MS should rather be trying to get PC Gamers to migrate to the 360, and they're not as likely to do that if they can get the same games on their PC.
I have seen pages saying that HD-DVD is the only one supporting porn, or Blu-Ray is, or both, or none. So I cant really take a stand when I keep reading different articles saying different things. Not letting porn being published on your next gen format is a dumb idea.
That sucks, but I'm still looking forward to it. As long as its HD, its all good to me.
I think we can all agree that both systems perform in certain specs than the other. I'm not going to get into all the numbers. It's all be said before.
I want to comment on Kas's comments. Of course he is over hyping the system. The fact is as being the President of the company you have to be this head strong believer in your own product. Listen to MS executives or Nitendo executives. They all make the same comments about their respective system. The fact is, just don't listen ...
I think the IPTV is going to be a niche market anyway, but if MS is serious about this then they need to step it up.
"Though the big problem here is that you'd have to replace your current ISP and cable provider to AT&T. And if you don't have access to the lightspeed service, then no IPTV for you! Secondly, you'll need a separate set top box that would work by itself or connected to a 360. So, the 360 still needs a separate set top box to use IPTV. Finally, if you have...
That is all I keep hearing from *bleeping* flammers. Does anyone actually know why VHS won out over Betamax? I bet more than half of the people saying the Betamax crap don't. So I'll explain it for you.
Betamax was a better format than VHS, but it didn't have the studio support. Sony was stingy with who it gave the rights to produce on the format, and that is exactly what Sony ISN'T doing this time around. Blu-Ray has the largest studio support with Paramount, Warners, etc. etc...
And I mean nothing, will touch Halo 3. I enjoy all three systems, and while my favorite is the PS3 and I would like to say MGS4 is more anticipated than Halo 3, it just isn't true. Now both games are HUGE! But Halo 3 just has more mainstream appeal. Both are going to sell extremely well, and I think that actually both will suffer from being released around the same time. Now I dont mean suffer as in disapointing sales, I mean suffer as in not as high sales. Both are going to sell huge number....
Xbox live, the original, blew. Very few games implemented it well. Honestly, Halo 2 was the only game that I played on Live, mostly. Besides the gaming though, you couldn't download movies, IPTVs, etc. It was bare bones minimum. This is what the PS Network is right now, with a little bit more. That is the good thing though about the PS Network, it'll change, grow, and improve over time. You know you'll see Movies and Music downloadable eventually, it is Sony. I don't see anyone bashing downlo...
Space isn't an issue right now, but giving developers more space to cram code will hopefully encourage them to make bigger, longer, and better games. That is the appeal of Blu Ray over DVD. It hasn't been done yet, but I'm sure companies will take advantage of the space, like Final Fantasy for example.
Seriously, we all know the PS3 isn't flying off the shelves. This really needs to stop being considered news because its been happening for weeks now. Why? It's too expensive and there is a lack of variety in games. That's it.
However, just because it isn't flying off the shelves doesn't mean its a failure. It's selling at a regular rate, nothing amazing, but nothing to worry about. This is going to be exactly like the PSP. How many cried the PSP was going to be a failure? A to...
Regardless of which company, you're gona run into to some out sourcing. Hell, I work at Eckerd (I'm still in high school people, so its okay), and when our registers mess up or an AT&T phone card screws up, and we have to call for support, more than half the time we'll get someone from another country. Try understanding broken English while you have a 350 pound woman screaming at you because the phone card didn't activate.
Larger discs do not equal better games. But MGS has proven to be a quality series. Gamers know this game will be good just as everyone knows Halo 3 will be good. Secondly, if you have such a hard time excepting MGS4 as a good game because Kojima wants a 50GB disc, then what do you think about Blue Dragon using 3 DVDs? Do more discs mean a better game?
